Great room in fabulous location with lovely hosts
Pros:

The laocation and the host, Deeshan, were both amazing! The beach is so quiet there - it’s like a private beach.

Cons:

We liked everything although a fridge to which we had easy access (even a communal fridge) would have been great (although Deeshan was happy to provide cold water when he was around)

If the owners were no such nice people I would have been more misarable
Pros:

The host n hostess were nice indeed. The beach front was good.

Cons:

The hotel is at end of Hikkaduwa with no restaurants in the neighborhood. I booked a room with balcony but all balconies overlook the busiest, noisiest road in town. I was moved to a small room for the same price.
No cleaning, no information flow, no staff, the owner n his wife do everything.
There are only 2 big rooms with ocean view.

Pros:

Beautiful place right on the beach. I am en elderly woman traveling alone and I must say i cuold not have made a better choice. Safe, clean and friendly. Deeshan goes out of his way to make sure you are allright. He also aranged a trip to Ella for me and it was fabulous. Deeshan also communicate very promt and friendly before my stay, reasuring everyting is in place. This place makes you feel like the most important guest. I will stay here again at the next opportunity.

Nothing to not like.

Pros:

The hotel is beautifully situated little outside the real crowded area of Hikkaduwa. The owner and his wife are kind and welcoming, they aim to give you the best experience possible. If you want, it's possible to enjoy a home made dinner. Also they help you navigate all the different things the town has to offer so you don't end up in a tourist trap. Breakfast was either the English style, what you get all around Sri Lanka, or a beautifully prepared Sri Lanka style breakfast.
But the best are the sunsets at the beach ❤️

Pros:

Wir hatten ein riesiges Zimmer mit Meerblick. Der Balkon mit Sitzmöbeln war schön. Es gab Moskitonetze und Kühlschrank.

Cons:

Im Vergleich zu anderen Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten,die wir auf unserer Reise genutzt haben, war dieses Hotel etwas lieblos eingerichtet. Es gab kein Shampoo oder Duschbad. Die Dusche sah modern aus,lieferte aber kaum Wasser.... Das Preis -Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nach unserer Meinung nicht.
Generell ist in Dodanduwa durch brennende Müllhaufen dicke Luft,was schon störend war ( am Abend).

Pros:

Cudowne miejsce. Z całego pobytu na Sri Lance to miejsce wspominamy z największym sentymentem. Atmosfera wręcz rodzinna. Pokoje czyste, widok na morze spektakularny ❤️ właściciele to wspaniali ludzie (już tęsknimy :) ) zawsze pomocni. Pyszne śniadania w stylu Lankijskim. Polecam z całego serca.

Exceptional place for a splendid stay
Pros:

I stayed for 2 weeks and I can say I'm in love with this place! All new facilities (silent AC etc), proximity to the beach (like several meters), cleanliness, location is close to the fish market (one could buy and order fish prepared differently at the hotel), quietness, no insects spotted, while not that far from the turtle beach. Amazing staff, whom I'm missing already dearly.

There's a lake nearby (10 minutes away) on foot, where one could do some Kayaking for 1000/h Ruppies with scenery views.

As a tempted traveller I can say that the place is indeed the perl in the Indian ocean.

Наше пребывание в этом отеле превзошло все возможные ожидания! Это именно то место, о котором хочется рассказывать и куда мечтаешь вернуться снова и снова.
Номер — просторный, роскошный, с потрясающим видом на море, от которого захватывает дух.
В отеле идеальная чистота👍 чувствуется настоящая забота о гостях.
Отдельного восхищения заслуживает персонал: невероятно добрые, искренние, внимательные люди, которые делают всё, чтобы ты чувствовал себя как дома. Завтраки готовят в любое удобное для вас время,всегда вкусно👍
Но самый трогательный и незабываемый момент — это сюрприз от хозяина отеля и его супруги. В честь дня рождения моего мужа они приготовили для нас настоящий шриланкийский ужин, накрыли шикарный стол, и всё это — абсолютно бесплатно, в качестве подарка. А в завершение вечера нам вынесли большой праздничный торт со свечами. Это было настолько душевно и трогательно, что эмоции переполняют до сих пор.
Этот отель — лучшее, что случилось с нами за всё путешествие. Огромная благодарность хозяевам и всей команде! Мы в полном восторге ❤️

Freundliches Strandhotel
Pros:

Das Hotel liegt direkt an einem ruhigen Strand. Das Personal ist sehr nett und bemüht z.B. wurde ein Dinner Abends angeboten (es gab Fisch gegrillt am Beach). Auf Nachfrage wurde sogar extra 2 Bier im Supermarkt besorgt! Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt!

Cons:

Leider war auch nachts teilweise der Verkehr zu hören. Wir hatten ein Zimmer Richtung Straße. Ob dies bei den Zimmern Richtung Beach zu hören ist, wissen wir nicht.
Zudem wäre für die Damen ein Mülleimer direkt im Badezimmer geschickt. Ansonsten alles super!

Pros- We loved our stay at Kavin beach resort. Rooms are spacious, staff and owner extremely well behaved and helpful. Modern interiors, the beach in front of the resort was fantastic, very picturesque. Sunsets from our room was exceptionally beautiful.

Cons:

Cons- The top floor family room facing the ocean didn't have a separate bathroom/ toilet. It's just an extension of the bedroom with curtains separating the area. No wall/ no doors. The bathing area/ toilet was literally two steps away from our bed without any separation which we found unhygienic and not to our taste. When we told the owner about we not being comfortable with this, he graciously offered another bathroom which was in the next room to be used by us. But even that bathroom had issues with water being accumulated in the after every shower and we had to wipe/ mop the floor after every use. This whole bathroom issue was a bit messy, except that everything was good.
