Sehr netter, väterlich besorgter Hotelmanager. Sehr gutes (scharf gewürztes!) Essen, prima englisches Frühstück (auch als Breakfast-Paket to go für den sehr frühen Aufbruch nach Sigiriya). Etwas abseits der Stadt gelegen, aber deswegen auch sehr ruhig.
Bemühter, aber schlecht organisierter, langsamer Service im Restaurant.
בעיה עם האינטרנט חלש מאד המקום רחוק מהעיר ולכן אין הרבה מה לעשות במלון ,אלא לשבת ולחכות שהיום יעבור. יש צורך לחדש מלאי מגבות כולן על סף שחיקה.

The hotel was situated out of town in a quiet location.
The bed was super comfy and lots of spaces.
The property was tired, we had ripped sheets and the kettle wouldn’t switch off and the air con didn’t really work.
Also the fridge was off on our arrival, so it wasn’t cold.
WiFi was poor and breakfast was basic.
Rooms were clean and comfortable
Extremely poor service. Staff didn't have any training, receptionist looked scared the whole time and breakfast service took 45 minutes even though we had ordered the previous night. Definitely not worth for the money.
Everything, specially staff! Every and each staff, they are attentive and caring. Breakfast was amazing, I really enjoyed it. Place is very quiet and facing a rice field. Rooms were huge and comfortable, specially its clean.
I think Management should work on gardening, need a swimming pool, need some work on ACs and kettles… otherwise property should be 4 star without any doubt.

Das Personal war sehr zuvorkommend und das Frühstück üppig und geschmacklich sehr gut.
Das Leintuch sowie die Decke waren zerrissen, von außen wirkte der Gebäudekomplex mit den Zimmern nicht sonderlich einladend (kaputte Fliesen, Risse in den Wänden etc.).
Ruins is one of the best experiences I have ever had. The staff is very nice. The food, the rooms are amazing. I invite all local and foreign people to come here and have fun. Located outside the city, it is a quiet and pleasant place to stay. In all respects, Ruins is a beautiful hotel located in Polonnaruwa. I am thankful to all the employees including the management for helping to make my holiday beautiful.

It's a bit in the middle of nowhere so I recommend renting a bike as we did.
Loved the location of this place, right out in the fields and more residential area. We actually went for a walk around the neighborhood and met so many local people and popped into one of the tiny local shops to pick up some ramen for dinner one night. The room was hugeeeee and very quiet. Wifi was a bit poor but overall the grounds are lovely and the staff were super polite. We were a bit early for the vacation season so we almost had the whole place to ourselves.
