A very pleasant experience in a friendly and high quality little hotel.
Pros:

Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable, if small, bedroom with all necessary amenities. Food in the evening and breakfast were excellent with a varied menu compared to many hotels. Plenty of parking adjacent to the entrance door.

Cons:

Bathroom has no heating and a very draughty window (Room 9) and there was some noise from the bar area beneath the room at 3.15am which woke us up - night porter tidying up was the explanation. I suspect this is not a regular occurrence.
These comments are only recorded for completeness and in no significant way do they affect our overall rating for this excellent hotel.

Wished I could have stayed longer!
Pros:

Staff were very welcoming and friendly. I only had an overnight stay but wished I could have stayed longer. My room was excellent, overlooking the fields (and sheep) to the rear. I didn't want for anything, plenty tea, coffee etc in my room and lovely toiletries in the bathroom. The embiance of the hotel was cosy and warm, enhanced by the two roaring open fires. Breakfast was fabulous, the choices were endless all cooked to perfection. Thank you for a lovely stay. I WILL be back hopefully soon.

Cons:

It was perfect.
