A pleasant surprise. Amazing views of the river and a very good steak as well.

Good food and bar staff but never again
Pros:

The food was very good. We have always enjoyed eating there. The bar staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Cons:

The dining room was booked out, so after ordering our meals from the bar, we asked the dining room staff member to be seated on the balcony; it was empty with a spectacular view of Jervois and the river. We were then told that due to the weather (no wind and calm) the door could/ would not be unlocked for us. We were then directed to another out door eating area (note same weather conditions) where we had to eat with the smokers. So no “River View” for us.
No sound reduction in the room, if you want sleep this is not for you. You can hear every door bang from the shared bathrooms, not to mention the trains and road trains rumbling through the night. Couldn’t sleep after 1am.

Best value in Tailem Bend, very pleasant accommodation.
Pros:

A very spacious room with clever design incorporating kitchen, study, tv watching from bith beds. Lovely big sofa. Feeling of privacy down the end of the complex and easy access if arranged for after hours. Good landscaping, and country friendliness of workers. Easy to find motel. And yummy biscuits provided.

Cons:

There's a difficulty with the strips attached to the bottom of the outside doors, which fold under and make closing the door tricky. Lifting ours by hand hurt my hand...it's the only thing that detracts from a very nice stay, so I would advise replacing any that do this.

Bed uncomfortable, Toilet facilities poor, shower facilities poor.
Pros:

The food at the Hotel was excellent, good quality and quantity.

Cons:

You had to use a common toilet/bathroom area. 1 toilet, 1 shower for all the guests on the floor. The facilities were old with peeled paint and just not maintained to a 2026 standard.
