Pros:

The old part was full of character. Great location for walking into centre . Great shower

Cons:

Our room was very different from the room shown in photos. Dust and a cobweb went from light to corner of bedpost. Cobwebs around window . Numerous bags of laundry outside our room

Great but not as advertised.
Pros:

Comfortable room, great facilities.

Cons:

Room was not as plush as in the photos. No chaise Longue and no curtains around the 4 poster, and no complimentary water.

Great location close to Whitby harbour, try to stay in Bagdale hall itself rather than the Annexe .
Pros:

Location for Whitby could not be better, 3min walk yo the swing bridge.
Bagdale hall itself had the look and feel of a very historic building, with features as expected of this age of building.
Cooked breakfast was good
Staff all friendly

Cons:

Crab hall is an annexe two doors down from Bagdale hall., and is a Georgian building and lacks that historic ambience of Bagdale.
Exterior really uninviting and needs freshening
Interiour similarly needs touching up, not very appealing..
Bed not very comfortable, frame creaks as soon as you move. Mattress very firm and slopes slightly to the centre.
Cooked breakfast was good, but the cold offering strawberries not fresh, and still frozen.

Lovely stay would stay agin
Pros:

The staff were excellent

Cons:

Black out blinds in our room number 17 the net curtains outdated, the curtains did not keep out the light a bit dated. Our room and bathroom was not cleaned on the first day we stayed at the hotel, everything else was goof.

for the money was OK - location , friendly staff and breakfast - but room was very tired
Pros:

Location was excellent as was breakfast

Cons:

Could have done with a fridge - also during our stay the TV was not working - not a huge disappointment, but would be nice to have the option - the room and toilet were spacious but really is in need of a makeover - think the decor has been the same for decades. ( appreciate it is a old building but an effort to cheer up would help )

The accommodation was disappointing but we enjoyed our stay in Whitby
Pros:

The breakfast was adequate as we do not eat a large breakfast.
The location was good as it was a couple of minutes into town.
The coffee/tea station was good as there was plenty of supplies.

Cons:

The bed was very uncomfortable and loudly creaked every time you moved.
The free toiletries in the bathroom was very poor for the price we paid. I would have expected at least shampoo, conditioner and shower/bath wash rather than one cheap pump all in one. I had to purchase shampoo and conditioner during the stay.

Disappointing. I value my weekends away but this left me feeling like I had been ripped off.
Pros:

Location excellent

Cons:

The room given to us was not the room we booked. We booked a Deluxe Room as it was my wife's Birthday and got a standard double but was charged the same price. Hotel was full so no changes possible but now negotiating with the hotel to get the room discounted to what it should have been priced at which was Travelodge. The Manager could not authorise any refund as had to speak to the owner. Another very strange thing was we were made to pay on arrival almost like they knew we may potentially not pay full price at the end. Avoid this hotel at all costs.
