Excellent location

Loved the calming, boutique feel of the hotel right in Central Kyoto but away from the cut and thrust of downtown which can be overwhelming. Super conveniently located opposite Nijo Castle and near fabulous local shops, cafes and eateries. Staff are delightful and helpful and the whole experience felt very thoughtful.
The only thing is that the rooms were quite dark and I wish there had been some small plates.
Lovely staff, bags were brought to room and lovely bed & shower.
Sounds petty but lighting and lack of natural light, everything else was great

Would be nice to have a laundry service (there a laundromat 5 min walk away but when it’s snowing/ raining, hard to get large amounts of clothes across) - I’m sure people would be willing to pay (at this price point if it’s a fair price!)
Rooms need a little bit more lighting. An extra two down lights, one on side of the bed, would be perfect. (Can be a bit dim at times)
Shower curtain can make the shower feel a bit cramped as they don’t go flat when extended.
Overall though highly recommend!
These facilities offered a lot of space in a big city and gave us the opportunity to be able to rest from lots of traveling around. The shower/tub combo was very spa like and made it especially easy to relax after a long day. Additionally appreciated how close this place was to the metro.
The hotel was clean, modern, and very comfortable. The location was convenient for sightseeing, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room was quiet and well-designed, making it a relaxing place to come back to after a long day. The room we were in had a nice high ceiling as well which added to the large feel of the room, something we weren’t expecting.

Hotel lindo, muito cómodo, com staff atencioso. Adorámos tudo! A cama era super confortável e havia espaço suficiente no quarto. A zona é tranquila e tem ótimos acessos.
Não escolhemos quarto com vista para o castelo, portanto a nossa janela estava tapada. Mas entrava na mesma luz natural.
The location, right across the castle and a bit far from the central station (we prefer it this way, as it’s less crowded).
The room was very nice, with beautiful design, always clean and with a comfortable bed.
The staff very polite and Ben always happy to assist. We also enjoyed the complimentary welcome drink!
