It was quiet, comfortable, and the nice kind of Portland quirkiness.
Pros:

Great locations and friendly counter staff. The bag check room was a huge benefit. The room was quiet and private. Thank goodness for the blackout drapes since the building next door had bright lights on all night.

Cons:

Parking is very scarce in this area. Overnight parking is even more difficult. I did find a garage that allowed overnight parking but it was 9 blocks away.

Cons:

The elevator was broken but they let us know with plenty of notice. There was also someone screaming outside at 2 AM, but that wasn’t the hotels fault.

Cons:

This property was filthy. The bedding had stains on it, the halls and floors were filthy. There was no bathroom in our room and we were expected to use a common bathroom with other guests in the hallway.

Unique and Comfortable Hotel with great location.
Pros:

The entire vibe of the Kex was awesome. The front desk guy was super helpful with where to park, etc. Our room was the best with the bunk beds, each kid had their own space and it felt like I had the room to myself. The room was large and had a huge window to people watch. The decor was so fun and unique. The beds were all so comfortable, the bedding was so soft. Lots of towels, an actual hand soap dispenser, and I loved the glass bottles of water.
A lot of nice touches made this such a cool space and a great experience to celebrate my daughter's 13th birthday. She is already wanting to book this room again for dance comps at the convention center, which is just a few blocks away. The Moda Center was also an easy walk. The restaurant was also very yummy and had plenty of seating. We didn't get to check out the spa or rooftop on this trip. We can't wait until next time.

Cons:

Very minimal stuff that wouldn't deter us from staying. The room definitely needed another mirror besides the bathroom, full length preferably. 4 girls trying to share one mirror, yikes. Lol.
Also, our room was on the second floor, and right outside was a bus stop, the Max, and lots of traffic/sirens. This didn't really phase us, but for people who are light sleepers, it may be bothersome.

Super fun, I slept for 10-12 hours every single day.
Pros:

I loved how close it was to everything, truly walking distance. The beds were super super comfortable

Cons:

The bathrooms were a little dingy, everything stay stocked, but the sinks seemed molded
