Pros:

Lovely pool and dining area. The staff were very attentive and friendly.

Cons:

Too near to the train line. Not a problem during the day but the early morning one was no good if you're a light sleeper.

Alles in Allem grundsätzlich kein schlechtes Hotel aber wir mussten aufgrund vieler Kleinigkeiten oft ärgern was den Url
Pros:

Der Poolbereich und die Zimmer sind grundsätzlich schön.
Der Manager und ein weiterer Mitarbeiter waren sehr bemüht.

Cons:

Das Personal war bemüht aber teilweise (auch mangels Englischkenntissen) nicht wirklich hilfreich.
Die Türen unserer Zimmer waren extrem schwergängig - erst nach mehrmaligen Hinweis wurde zumindest ein Zylinder repariert.
Die andere Tür musste aufgebrochen werden nachdem sich zwei Gäste darin eingesperrt haben.
Der Toast beim Frühstück war teilweise hart und die Eier kalt.
Die Bahnstrecke ist auch Nachts frequentiert und die Züge gut hörbar.
Roomservice gibt es nur auf Nachfrage (was einem jedoch beim Check In nicht gesagt wird).
Die Haupttür wird abends verschlossen und man muss anrufen um öffnen zu lassen oder man geht über eine Seitentüre rein (wird einem auch nicht beim Check In gesagt).
Beim einchecken gab es kein Toilettenpapier im Zimmer- wurde jedoch auf Nachfrage sofort gebracht.

The lovely staff who made sure i had bags of honey marmalade fruit and curd for breakfast.. Dinidei the manager made sure i had everything. The pool was clean and empty except for me. Swimming at night watching the stars

Worse hotel experience ever
Pros:

Only pluses were the architectural design and the interior decos of the reception area and the room was bigger and spacious

Cons:

Right next to the southern railway track so it was super loud at night
Rooms were specious but not clean
Room door lock was broken but not fixed for ages
Breakfast was the most hilarious plain and disgusting breakfast I have ever had in a hotel in Sri Lanka and other countries around the world
One of the worse hotels I have ever stayed with my family

Design common space with a little wet rooms
Pros:

Design of the shared space is beautiful! Nice small pool and plants everywhere. The staff is friendly and tried to be very helpful although sometimes it was hard to find somebody. They let us have a shower after check out, so we were thankful. Definitely recimmed a Srí Lankan breakfast over a continental one.

Cons:

The room was a little bit wet and the bathroom had a strange odour. The room was hard to lock/unlock.

Amazing place
Pros:

Amazing and quite place for holiday we really enjoyed our stay at Chariot Hikkaduwa. The food was great and they have great staff to look after the property.

Cosy, quiet and welcoming and value for money!
Pros:

The staff at Chariot are exceptional. They were prompt, courteous and extremely helpful. The property is so unique and well thought out — cosy, quiet and welcoming. The food is delicious and the location is pretty great.

Pros:

The very friendly staff. We can tell they try their best to make our stay nice even though they seem untrained.

Cons:

The toilet smells like drain. It’s not fresh at all. It has mould and really needs a refresh.

We highly recommend the Chariot
Pros:

We stayed for 5 nights in January 2025. The hotel is new with nice architecture and interior. Good ambience by the pool. We had the largest room. Spacious with nice interior and two large double beds and a single. Very good WiFi. No noise from the main, busy road along the beach, trains go close by (rarely). We had several meals at the hotel. Credit to Neil, the chef, who served up one meal better than the other. Dinidu, the manager, and his staff did everything he could for our stay to be at its best. The hotel is small and tranquil.

Cons:

Hotel looks great first impressions, but the rooms are small and overpriced by a long margin on other places I have stayed in Sri Lanka.

Fabulous
Pros:

Very pleasant location & very friendly staff. Specifically Mr.Dinindu arranged everything for our activity at the stay. Specially kayak which was our very first experience which was great. I’ll highly recommend this Hotel 🏨.

Value for money
Pros:

We booked a triple room, and the room had two king size beds which was comfortable and had enough room. Tasty food with good quantity. Small but a clean swimming pool.

Cons:

The discriptor mentioned it was a garden view but there was a bare land which did have a good view. We had to pass a unsafty railway crossing to enter the hotel.
