This is a very beautiful place with great gardens and a quiet area. Close to shops, restaurants and the metro is about 5 minutes walk.

Excellent location, right in the center of leafy French Concession, close to the metro, with a small park nearby for early risers, and a very convenient Lawson's next door. Room comfortable, calm and quiet. Water and amenities provided. Good breakfast buffet both chinese and western style. The staff was helpful and used to visitors from abroad.
Positive things: The strength of this hotel is it location. Located in a very quiet area, within walking distance to Chinese academy of sciences that I was visiting with many restaurants close by. Rooms ok with good shower.
Internet: slow, difficult to read newspapers, VPN connection drops etc.
Gym: limited in size, two treadmills, few free weights, poos air condition in room, only open 9am-9pm.
Breakfast: Good selection of chinese food with variation of breakfast dumplings between days, omelettes to order, coffe machine.
For western breakfast: more limited selection, small youghurts in fridge with only text in chinese with no info about % fat etc., bacon not the crispy way, but undercooked so fat all remaining, limited selection fresh fruit (melons), limited bread, no variation between days ( stayed 5 days

Bed is great. Room size is Ok.
They still serve breakfast in boxes to take to room with no choices. So strange because life was in normal in Shanghai and other hotels had normal buffet breakfast.
Hotel staff english language skills should be improved.
