Beautiful location, historic building. Very comfortable.
Pros:

This is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful location next to the Clyde canal. There are no staff on site and access is via various key codes provided before you arrive but as long as you appreciate that it doesn’t diminish from the property. Extremely comfortable bed, good sized room and bathroom with a deep bath and shower. Breakfast is provided and is continental style self service but nevertheless generous. Cooking facilities are available or there is a nearby cafe if you prefer. Secure on site parking. It’s an old historic building so expect some rough edges on the decor. We had a minor problem with the heating, we reported it via the phone number provided and were directed immediately to some oil filled radiators as a temporary solution and someone attended within 20 minutes to resolve the problem, which was excellent service.

Cons:

Nothing

Tucked away gem
Pros:

The room was spacious and clean, with a view over the canal basin and River Clyde. The breakfast room was fine. The instructions to gain entry were good. Very convenient for access to Glasgow Airport or Loch Lomond region, or further north and west.

Cons:

The schlep from the station at night is a bit dull. I expect most guests drive. I couldn't get the TV to work. Not a big issue that night.
I'm not a fan of hotels that are more like Air B&Bs, with no staff on site (as far as I could tell). But I understand the rationale.

We love coming to this quiet gem of a hotel - it's so quirky and relaxing.
Pros:

location is perfect

Cons:

entry to the property - always far too late when being given instructions for key codes. Why can this not be done a day in advance of travel?
It is an issue every time we stay here and has not been addressed.
