Would recommend it to anybody visiting Varna.
Pros:

The location is great - close to city center, great eats, the varna archaeological museum, which is world class, and walking distance to the sea garden, the beach etc. The accomodation is quite nice as it was the house of the first Varna mayor after Bulgarian independence and it still carries the atmosphere. Staff is excellent and very accommodating.

You yourself check in to an old isolated building worth not the stay.
Pros:

Nothing at all.. don’t trust on the pictures

Cons:

Shared toilet bathroom with other occupants, old wooden cold floor. Narrow way and dirty facade.

Cons:

This is not a hotel! This is hostel with private room, with shared toilet and bathroom. The room was very small. There was a TV without proper signal. The remote was with dead batteries. There wasn't stuff, just keylocks and phone. I was asking for an invoice and received one without a receipt which doesn't suit me. Last time for me in this place!!!

Bestuhlter Innenhof mit Tischen. Gemütliches Bett in hellem charmanten Zimmer. Entspsnnte Atmosphäre. Gemeinschaftsbad mit soliden Armaturen. Guter Wasserdruck. Gemeinschaftsküche mit Kühlschrank und Geschirr. Z.b. Schälchen. Ausnehmend freundlicher , flexibler und extrem hilfsbereiter Gastgeber. Offenbar Inklusive Personalpolitik. Wlan und Smart-TV tip top.

Cons:

Wlan Router unterm Bett und dann noch direkt auf Kopfhöhe. Kunststoff-Schiebetür zum Gemeinschaftsbad lässt sich nur sehr geräschintensiv schließen. Steile Treppe ohne Geländer oben: potentielle Sturzgefahr. Lage indirekt an viel befahrener Hauptstraße (hinter Einfahrt und Innenhof.) Keine TV-Sender voreingestellt Auf Nachfrage wurden welche eingestellt, die aber sofort wieder verloren gingen.

The place itself has a nice concept, history, and atmosphere, but the lack of privacy and security really spoiled our stay. We’ve stayed in hostels and huts before and have no issue with shared spaces when we expect them — here, the misleading description made the experience frustrating.

Cons:

We booked this place as a hotel and unfortunately left disappointed. For us, a hotel means reception, privacy, and a private bathroom. In reality, this is much closer to a coliving/hostel-style place with shared spaces and bathrooms. If that had been communicated clearly on Booking, we would have set different expectations.

Some issues we faced:
- Our room door didn’t lock, so we didn’t feel safe leaving our laptops and belongings.
- The bathroom had no hot water. We were told to use another bathroom upstairs, but that felt uncomfortable since it belonged to other guests.
- The bathroom we used had a window into the kitchen, so there was no privacy.
- To use the toilet in the morning, we had to pass through common areas with people, which again felt uncomfortable.

I also tried sharing this feedback privately with the owner, hoping it could help improve future communication — unfortunately, my message wasn’t even read.

The location is close to the city center and the price is fair.

Cons:

The stairs were quite noisy and you can easily wake up. The toilet/bathroom is shared on each floor and it’s hard to keep it clean.
