Taking a security deposit in literally the ghetto, that doesn't come back to you for a week. I'm sick of this crap, take it in a second, return it in a second. Room not ready at 9pm. Room boiling hot, didn't't go below 26.5 all night and we only went there to be cool. Room itself good. Staff let us know they were closing and no one would be there so no point calling to get a cooler room. Oh and I fed the homeless in the parking lot. Good look.

Hot room unbearable, could not sleep at all

It was a 35c day and having the aircon on since we arrived at 6pm, room temp showed 28c still at 11pm. The shade was down but it was very hot all night. Please turn the aircon on before arrival in the day I think may help.

Clean and quiet despite a pub

Smoke from Gaming area travelled through hotel! Very strong!

It is not safe.

It needs to be clearly stated in the listing that this hotel is above a pub. It reeks of cigarette smoke in the pub and bistro, and in the stairwell outside the hotel rooms. The rooms themselves don’t smell awful, but the smell of cigarette smoke is pungent everywhere else.
We had to move rooms after one night because there is a bright light outside of the window that made the room too bright to sleep.
In both rooms we stayed in, the toilet seat was loose.
The shower needs a door or curtain so the bathroom floor doesn’t end up flooded. We needed to push the water into the floor drain and dry the floor every time we showered.
The beds were too soft like marshmallows. I felt like my feet were higher than my head when lying down because we sank into mattress.

Too many things to list but here goes:
- when checking in, the hotel manager followed me into the hotel room and closed the door behind himself to give me a tour of the room and bathroom. He kept staring at my breasts and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable being inside a small room with him with the door closed. Nothing happened but as a young woman travelling alone this was not acceptable behaviour in my personal opinion, and I definitely felt uncomfortable going to sleep (also note the hotel door does not have an internal security lock)
- the hotel hallway absolutely stunk of stale cigarette smoke and as an asthmatic that wasn’t great
- the hotel is located above a pokies bar and seemingly in a pretty dodgy area of Sydney. I worried about my car in the parking lot all night as well as walking to my car in the dark alone at 5am the next morning. Hotel also surrounded by housing commission
- other hotel guests probably had a few too many drinks and kept slamming their room doors all night. I must have woken up about 30 times
- to checkin you have to walk through the bar and bistro with your luggage and check in at the bar. A bit of a weird experience
- $250 security deposit was taken when I arrived (which was more than the total sum of 1 night accommodation of $180). $50 security deposit sure I could understand but $250 was way out of touch with reality of hotel quality. Also the listing says $200 not $250 as it should

Personally I would never stay here again under any circumstances and wouldn’t recommend to others. I should have read other reviews beforehand and left as soon as I arrived as a few other guests have done.

Number of things I did not like about this place.
- Venue calls itself a Hotel in their title; however we stayed 4 nights and our room was not cleaned at all. Towels were not changed, rubbish bins were full and not changed, complimentary items (milk, coffee etc) were not replenished.
- view from room was not good (view was a rubbish bin).
- air con did not work (set at 19 degrees however, did not reach that temperature at all. Remained at 23 degrees).
- Charging ports not by bed side table, so phone was charging on floor.
- Hard to locate reception. Check in was done in a dining room.
- area felt very unsafe, a lot of shifty people hanging around. Yelling and screaming can be heard at night.
