Great place to stay, right on the Manali-Leh highway, and a perfect mix of outdoors and comfort.
Pros:

The Alpinist is situated right on the Manali-Leh highway and is at a prime location. The river and the mountains are right in front, and make for beautiful views all through the day. Siddhu is always around and is super helpful. The food, while slightly on the pricier side, is tasty. The tents and domes are thoughtfully designed to give a 'glamping' experience. For anyone looking for an outdoor experience with all facilities and comfort of a hotel, The Alpinist is the perfect choice.

Cons:

Maybe it was because we were at the end of tourist season, but the cafe timings were a bit awkward and food was available only after 9AM. For early risers like myself, that was a bit uncomfortable.
