The fast service
The room wasnt clean, it was dusty with black stains on tiles, the previous persons soap was still in the shower, the room smelled like someone had used a dirty mop to mop the floors, i could hear people walking on tue corridors outside- meaning its obvious anyone outside can hear all my business.
It was good that there was a restaurant on the premises as we were advised by two policemen and locals not to go out at night as it wasn’t safe!
Maybe the area it is in is not safe?
Location is central for the work we are in Suva for. Other than that a lot of improvement is needed. The service is well below bearable. Please provide training to your staff.
The inconvenience began from check-in. The reception area was unorganised and full of luggage stowed in view of all guests to see, these are from either departing guests or those that are checking in. The 1st room i was given (608) at the end of the 2nd floor had me walking into a room that was not ready with nothing but a bed raised in the middle of the room barring the window. The bed was turned over and not done at all. I was then sent to another room above reception (Room 205) and when i walked in there were guests in the room (Very embarrassing for both me and the guest who had checked - in already). I was then made to wait in the lobby while they try and locate me a room that is ready for check in. I was then showed room 504 which i finally check in to however there was rubbish in the vanity drawers, the whole bathroom was wet with water drops all over the vanity area. 1 request, the housekeeping staff need a lot of training to report to reception rooms that are not ready. Please invest in the use of WhatsApp to communicate with your staffs on the floor so that we (guests) are not inconvenienced with your lack of organisation. The windows were missing louvers (A sustainable disaster with A/C in the room) Your room rate is not reflecting on the service and meeting the expectations Studio 6 now Yatu Lau is known for. Train your staff so they know they are valued.
Spacious
Peaceful
Comfortable
The facility is in an excellent location, and with a bit of TLC could be excellent really. Quiet, convenient, and the staff were excellent. The breakfast offered was adequate and filling with a balance of fruit and pancakes. Ample, secure parking available on site.
The place needs some TLC. Some structural maintenance in parts. Room louvres were loose. Dust is an issue being so close to the road so a more aggressive approach is needed to keep it in check.
Had an air-conditioner, had hot water. The lady at the desk was friendly.
The photos bore no relation to the accommodation we got given. It was dirty, there was no top sheet - just straight blanket with sheet on top. The plastic on the single bed, under the sheet was so noisy when rolling over - kept everyone awake. The sheets on both beds looked well past their use by dates with stains and age discolouration. The bathroom towel racks had all been broken off, and there was no soap holder in the shower. The shower hadn't had a good scrub in many a long while. The 'breakfast' was three peices of toast, with some butter, a small bit of papaya and half a banana..... All round not what we expected, not worth the money and real disappointment.
Breakfast was lovely. Dinner was the real highlight though. Food was EXCELLENT and very cheap. Totally worth eating here - Something on the menu for everyone!!
It was rainy and quite cool when we stayed so the children would have liked to watch some TV however the remotes didn't work and we were unable to watch anything at all.
The morning Front office staff were very friendly and efficinet. They were very very helpful. Restraunt staff were also very friendly.
When we checked out i forgot my vodafone pocket wifi in the room. I wasn't even notofied imagine we left the room at 9am left our suitcase in the office went to about doing business and returned at 2pm to have lunch again the Walu Restraunt and left at 3pm. I would have thought Housekeeping would have found the wifi and reported the matter to the office which would have bren returned to us when we collected our suitcases. After 3 phone calls in 2 days i kept talking to this very rude receptionist and on my third fone call she again said no i don't think they found it , i said that was the last place i remember leaving. 20 minutes later she calls me back to say they have it. Your PM shift receptionist needs to be taught how to serve customers even on the phone. And she must remember some of us are also Hotel/ Resort workers as well ... we understand procedures. Overrall we enjoyed our stay.
Close to city centre, helpful staff
