I didn't know what to expect as we arrived. I had used the Premier Inn on all my previous visits to Harwich, en route to the Ferry. However, this time availability and price put it out of reach for us, so I decided to try somewhere else. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Tulip Hotel. Parking was very secure. The room was clean and had everything one wanted for a night. It was quiet and comfortable. The room was small, and the bathroom tiny, but OK for our needs. Coffee and tea provided. Importantly, at a reasonable price.
Our only problem was that we were unable to get the water temperature right in the shower in OUR Bathroom. It was too hot to use. Had we not been leaving very early I would have discussed this with the staff. Perhaps we were doing something wrong, but I couldn't see what. I doubt that this would be a problem going forward, As I say, it might have been us at fault.
They acted very engaged by helping us in the evening with a TV problem.

Low cost but a small, clean and modern room and we were by the outside patio and securely gated area where our bikes were safely locked. It was 5 minutes cycle to catch the ferry to the Hook of Holland. Pleasant staff and good online communication. The hotel was quiet and in a convenient rather than lovely situation. It was exactly what we wanted although twin beds would have been preferred.
Couldn’t make the coffee machine work. A better selection of decaffeinated tea/ herbal teas.
Don't be put off by the outside. Location for ferry and shopping is perfect. Very friendly reception host. Rooms great and very clean.

Not the biggest room I've ever stayed in but very clean and nicely appointed. The whole building is undergoing some modernisation. Great location for the ferry, great value for money. Can't really complain ..
