House keeping and maintenance could have been better.
Excellent position great view across the Clyde looking over to Arran .. nice foyer in hotel .. Dining room and bars are beautiful and comfortable,
Pool and changing rooms were a bit run down although being upgraded !
Building works going on that was very noisy particularly annoying while trying to enjoy a peaceful few days sitting outside . I was not informed these works were going on whilst booking and was available to see online .. I asked several times to order a soda water and lime .. lime was out of stock for purchase entire stay .

Setting is spectacular and the main part of the hotel has been/is in the process of being refurbished. The parts that have been completed are impressive and I assume the remaining parts will be done to the same standard. The food was excellent; we had breakfast, lunch and dinner and were impressed by the quality of food.
The level of service was patchy! By this I mean that some of the staff were highly professional, knowledgable (about the menu), while other staff gave the impression they took little pride in their work. For example; my wife ordered a cocktail with our lunch and it still hadn't arrived 40mins later. During this time we asked our waitress twice and she seemed annoyed that we were annoyed about the wait. Eventually I went to the barman and asked myself and only then did we get the drink. Moreover, the reception staff also gave off the vibe that they were killing time and didn't want to be approached to answer any questions.
