Fantastisch.
Pros:

Unsere zwei Nächte im Steps Garden Resort waren wirklich toll. Bereits bei unserer Ankunft wurden wir an der Rezeption sehr herzlich empfangen. Alle Mitarbeitenden waren unglaublich freundlich, aufmerksam und hilfsbereit, sodass wir uns von Anfang an sehr wohl und willkommen gefühlt haben.

Unsere Hütte war gemütlich und schön eingerichtet und die ruhige Umgebung hat uns besonders gut gefallen. Nach einem Tag in Negombo konnten wir uns wunderbar am Pool erholen. Die Unterkunft liegt etwas ausserhalb und dadurch angenehm ruhig, trotzdem ist man schnell in der Stadt. Als wir ein Tuk-Tuk benötigten, wurde uns direkt eines organisiert und wir wurden kurze Zeit später abgeholt.

Auch das Essen hat uns begeistert. Sowohl das Abendessen als auch das Frühstück waren sehr lecker. Besonders in Erinnerung bleiben uns dabei auch die herzliche Bedienung und der Koch, die beide sehr aufmerksam waren.

Insgesamt haben wir unsere Zeit im Steps Garden Resort sehr genossen. Die Kombination aus der ruhigen Lage, dem schönen Pool, dem guten Essen und vor allem den herzlichen Menschen hat unseren Aufenthalt besonders gemacht.

Wir können die Unterkunft wirklich jedem empfehlen – egal ob Familien, Alleinreisenden oder Backpackern. Nochmals vielen Dank an das gesamte Steps Garden Resort Team für die schöne Zeit. Wir haben uns bei euch rundum wohl und willkommen gefühlt!

Gutes Ankommen in Sri Lanka
Pros:

Als erste Station ein guter Einstieg in unsere Sri Lanka-Rundreise. Die Kinder liebten den Pool und die vielen Tiere, die Ihnen begegneten.
Das Personal war sehr freundlich und bemüht.

Cons:

Das Kartenlesegerät funktionierte nicht. Das war ein ziemlicher Stressfaktor beim Versuch zu Bezahlen.

Het personeel is enorm vriendelijk, het zwembad is erg fijn.

Cons:

Je kon niet echt warm douchen, het was eerder lauw water. Ontbijt was niet ons ding, maar dat is natuurlijk persoonlijk. Het is wel typisch sri lankaans. Dus misschien wel heel leuk voor de ervaring.

The location was good and close to the airport.

The staff was very welcoming and helpful, but other than that we had a disappointing experience

Cons:

I had booked the tree house - now I know that a tree house is surrounded by nature but the photos posted here showed it was made of concrete. However, those seemed to have been the cabanas only and our tree house was made of wooden panels which had holes inside. We were not able to sleep as there was a lot of different inserts inside the room and in the washroom. In addition, there was a lot of noise coming from the roof - there were squirrels jumping and playing. It was so loud we could not sleep.
My other issue was the fact that I they had advertised free pick up from airport which I was later told is not included in my package. They also told me on WhatsApp that I can get a sim from them, but the staff was not aware at all and said it’s not available.

Sehr zu empfehlen als Aufenthalt nach dem Flug vor der Weiterreise

Pool, Preis-Leistungsverhältnis mega, Personal super nett, Klimaanlage, Essen top, Anlage ganz bequem

Für den Preis alles in Ordnung, etwas alt, aber alles im Rahmen, Lage nicht geeignet, wenn man nach Colombo in die Stadt möchte

Lekkere plek om te landen
Pros:

Heerlijke plek om te landen na een lange vlucht. We konden nog lekker zwemmen en het eten werd ter plekke voor ons klaargemaakt. Vriendelijk personeel ook die alles voor ons wilde regelen.

The resort was very pretty. Lots of beautiful gardens to wander and explore. The pool was excellent and they did provide us with a towel and cushions. The in-house restaurant cooks lovely fresh Sri lankan food. They will make it non-spicy for you. The cocktails are also very nice as well. The rooms air conditioning works well. The complimentary taxi to the airport was also a good idea. The resort is great value for money. We used it for full days relaxation before we went to the airport.

Cons:

I would have liked a kettle in my room. That is unlimited tea and coffee at breakfast. I couldn't get the hot water to work but I didn't bother asking.
