A wonderful gem complete with a pool and such friendly, kind staff - plus a courtesy airport pickup!
Pros:

We stayed here several times during our tour of Sri Lanka and cannot thank the Resort enough for consistently providing us with a memorable stay - an exceptional gem in Negombo!
Steps Garden Resort provides a courtesy pickup service from the airport, is set in lovely gardens, with a variety of bungalows at very affordable and competitive prices, plus a lovely clean pool with loungers (towels provided) adjacent to dining hall.
The bungalows are extremely clean with comfortable beds (plus mosquito nets), and en-suite bathrooms with hot water.
We had all our meals at the Resort and can vouch that the breakfasts and wide variety of freshly cooked dinners were delicious.
The host, his wife and all the staff were exemplary, so very kind, extremely helpful, and engaging with guests, ensuring that their stay is satisfactory.
We have been fortunate to travel to many countries, staying in a variety of accommodation, and Steps Garden Resort must rate as one of the very best. Thank you for such a wonderful and memorable stay… we very much hope to return.
We can very highly recommend this lovely place, whether it be on arrival/ departure or even for a relaxing few days.

Pros:

Nous avons été un peu déçus de cet hébergement car nous avons payé plus cher que d'autres hébergement beaucoup plus confortable et avec plus de prestations que celui ci. Pas d'eau chaude, salle de bain assez vétuste, pas de petit déjeuner compris.

An OK stay for the money but rooms vary quite a bit
Pros:

We stayed three nights on separate bookings in three different rooms, giving quite varied experiences. The first room, “Allen’s Waters Edge” was very small with a single bed on an awkward mezzanine level, and a small double bed crammed next to a wall on one side, giving access only on one side and little space to manage luggage. Good mosquito nets, which we’re definitely needed, but only a thin sheet and no blanket, which seemed to be quite common in Sri Lanka. The second was a family room, “Homestay” that offered plenty of space but a rather aged bathroom and was a little further away from the dining area and pool. The third room, the “Tree House” was a reasonable size but a bit ramshackle and up rickety wooden stairs. The site, however, was very pleasant in a large and well-maintained garden with plenty of signs naming plants, probably the best thing about the property. The airport transportation was fine. The young woman on reception did not seem to understand English very well and was not especially helpful, but the kitchen staff and porters were very friendly and helpful. Food in the evenings was quite limited in variety with several items not available on each of the stays, but the Sri Lankan breakfast was more than adequate. The swimming pool is a good size but rather cloudy when we were there and the loungers would benefit from some decent cushions. Overall an adequate one/night stay 30 minutes from the airport.

Home in nature
Pros:

Everything . This was my second stay in one week. The staff here are kindest, friendliest and amazing people. I stayed in the tree house and was excellent. Clean, spacious and just the perfect location.

Cons:

Not a dislike. But a just to be aware you will hear all the noise, doors, chat, walking etc of those staying underneath you and around you .

Pros:

We liked the nature in and around the property. The perfect place to relax before or after a flight to Colombo. The staff was very nice.

The rooms are not cleaned everyday. It would be better this is done every day.

Idéal pour une courte étape à Negombo
Pros:

Établissement très agréable avec jardin et piscine, parfait pour se reposer après un long vol

On nous a demandé un supplément pour le règlement par carte, ce fut la seule fois de notre séjour
L’idéal serait d’avoir un petit frigo dans la chambre
