We also recommend staying in Chennai for a long period of time!
Pros:

The owner and staff were very kind and gentlemanly. They welcomed us warmly despite our late night arrival due to a delayed flight. They also helped us resolve the issue regarding our luggage for our flight.

Great choice especially for budget
Pros:

Really cool location down quiet road next to main road with loads of amenities. Very nice friendly staff always available. Very good price if basic

Awful hotel with awful manager, well located

Objective review here - here are the very few good things.
-Good location
-nice staff, apart from manager
-I left my big bag that one time for three days and no problems with my belongings (see problems below)

Cons:

I was told by manager to cancel my 2nd and 3rd bookings because they told me they'd keep my big backpack while I was in a trip for 3 days somewhere else ONLY for the first time of three reservations with them. My plan was I would leave and then return for more nights at the hostel. Businesses generally like returning customers - not this one.

Never been told in hundreds of hotels and hostels I can't leave luggage. When I told him the second and third bookings were only 1 night each he said it isn't worth it for him financially - gives you an idea of his (absence of) character.

So I did leave it that one time for three days and no problems with my belongings.

The hotel itself objective of that problem:

On arrival you get a complimentary bottle of dirty RESEALED water - they hope you won't notice it isn't properly closed and is dirty.
I have been to so many cheap hotels for one person bedrooms, and this is by far the worst with the same price as others which are good, even in the same area.
Think of a 1* The Shining Hotel
Excrement stains on the walls very possible, or brown ketchup (?)
Disgusting bathroom
Taps that won't shut
No toilet paper
Everything broken or very old
Ancient pillows
No sheets to cover yourself
Millions of mosquitos who bite you even through your clothes (not seen that in 1 month in India)
The worst customer service from the boss in the world from manager
***New hotel I had to make those cancelled bookings with was so much better for same price***

Whatever he replies is a lie if he disagrees with the above.

Everything was great actually.

Cons:

When I checked out,they wanted to charge me a night extra,even if I was checking out earlier than expected time, because someone made a mistake with the date on the receipt. Check in was also a lengthy process with forms and stuff. Other than that,had a wonderful time.

Pros:

Very good hotel. Cleaning super. Room is spacious. Beds are super. Reception sir very cooperative and helpful sir. I recommend to all guest to stay in the guest house surely U must get happiness, safe and peaceful.

Cons:

Towel not providing. I request to provide towel to all rooms another then AC rooms.

little disappointed
Pros:

reasonably clean inside the room and bathroom. However, poor ventilation, a feeling of congestion, and the smell of cigarette smoking inside the property

Cons:

The path leading to the hotel is narrow and always filled with bikes and people.
