Lovely place but not a great experience
Pros:

The room was lovely. It was a family room with toys for the children in their own room. The brandy was also a lovely touch and it was very clean. The locaation is also great for Chatsworth house.

Cons:

The staff were not very helpful at all. We arrived and waited for a long time to be greeted, with several staff just walking past and ignoring us. When we arrived for diinner, it was the same again. We were then told that hardly anything on the menu was available. Myself and my mum ended up having kids meals. We waited a really long time for food and drinks and it ruined the experiance. They did offer a discount which worked out about £7 and the member of staff was quite rude about it. Breakfast was very similar and we waited a long time for pur order to be taken.

Great location but bigger beds please.
Pros:

Love the location. Centre of Baslow. Fabulous breakfast 10/10. Room pleasant. Lovely pub.

Cons:

Only a double bed which is unusual nowadays especially for the price. Only real disappointment. If went back to Baslow might look elsewhere for this reason.

Would return for food but not to stay.
Pros:

The staff and food were excellent. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful and approachable and made our stay special. Wish I had taken the ladies names. The location is perfect and the food was excellent. We could tell it was all home cooked and we throughly enjoyed dinner and breakfast.

Cons:

Sadly the family room wasn’t great. All the beds were so uncomfortable, in particular the double bed. It creaked with every move and kept us all awake a lot during the night, Infact my husband ended up in the bottom bunk bed half the night because it was so unbearable and very small for two adults.

The shower screen in the kids bedroom wouldn’t stay back so we had to hold it whilst having a shower. The pressure of both showers was rubbish too, as was the Wi-Fi during our whole stay.

Staff were brilliant but the hotel was tired and shabby.

Facilities and room were good, staff were very pleasant and helpful, but room view was poor.
Pros:

The room was clean, as was the shower and toilet. It had a comfortable bed, plenty of storage for clothes etc.
The Breakfast, included in the price was generous, (all you could eat) our dog was made very welcome in virtually all areas.

Cons:

The room was a little small, and could have done with a couple of comfy chairs if there had been a little more room. Wifi wasn't too good but did work, as we couldn't get a telephone signal inside most of the property for 4G to work.
The room didn't have a very good view, as it looked out over a compound for the dustbins and back of kitchen extractor fans and ducting and was noisy when they were dumping glass and rubbish in the bins.

Good supply of juice, tea and coffee. The breakfast was reasonable. Helpful staff and nice surroundings and peaceful atmosphere.
