Everything was very good. The staff were very friendly and went way above expectations during drinks, the evening meal and breakfast.

On a personal level I prefer soft beds and pillows so I found the beds a little hard.

Staff good but very average accommodation and restaurant
Pros:

The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

The bathroom plumbing was awful. The shower was poor and the cold water tap was a trickle which made brushing teeth very difficult.

Lovely place but not a great experience
Pros:

The room was lovely. It was a family room with toys for the children in their own room. The brandy was also a lovely touch and it was very clean. The locaation is also great for Chatsworth house.

Cons:

The staff were not very helpful at all. We arrived and waited for a long time to be greeted, with several staff just walking past and ignoring us. When we arrived for diinner, it was the same again. We were then told that hardly anything on the menu was available. Myself and my mum ended up having kids meals. We waited a really long time for food and drinks and it ruined the experiance. They did offer a discount which worked out about £7 and the member of staff was quite rude about it. Breakfast was very similar and we waited a long time for pur order to be taken.

Pros:

The Devonshire had a very welcoming feel, with a cosy bar area. The staff were very helpful. Out room was good, had everything we needed. The restaurant was nice and the food good. It is a very convenient spot if you are visiting Chatsworth.

Great location but bigger beds please.
Pros:

Love the location. Centre of Baslow. Fabulous breakfast 10/10. Room pleasant. Lovely pub.

Cons:

Only a double bed which is unusual nowadays especially for the price. Only real disappointment. If went back to Baslow might look elsewhere for this reason.
