Excellent breakfast
Room was very small
Did not like the dinner
Everything
Nothing
Perfect location, very close to chatsworth house just across the street from the bus stop. Lovely friendly staff and restaurant/bar attached. Cosy, clean room.
The walls are very thin so you can hear everyone walking around but it’s a very old building and the bar was pretty quite so no real issue. Would still highly recommend! :)
Lovely room, great location and helpful reception staff.
Very slow restaurant service and not enough choice for breakfast - would like choice of breads, cereals, cheese, fruit, seeds etc alongside cooked breakfast.
Combina perfectamente lo tradicional de la construcción antigua y el pueblo, con un alojamiento con todas las comodidades . Es hermoso, calientito y el personal es muy amable.
Great location for overnight stopover during hiking over a couple fo days. Staff are friendly. Tea and coffee provided in the room.
Room - The shower pressure was very low and bathroom bit dated.
We had dinner book it was set to a time that cannot be changed by 15mins even though resturant was empty. Pre book breakfast and can only choose one item. Also had to select a timeslot which was odd as again was empty. The timeslots did not make sense.
The room is overpriced.
There was a handwritten welcome note waiting for me in the room, along with a bottle of complimentary brandy. An exceptional touch.
The wonderfully kind keepers left me a wonderful breakfast bag as well since I mentioned I had to leave quite early.
The bathroom was well sanitized and toilet seat wrapped. The tea and biscuit set was also very well stocked. Had a nice room which faced the brook and was incredibly calm and private. Couldn’t be happier for the value.
You’re also just a short walk from the pedestrian entrance into Chatsworth Park if you fancy a stroll to see some deer, after the tourists have gone.
The food we had a t breakfast and for dinner was good.
The arrangement for breakfast was to order and submit by 9pm the night before. There was no fruit or cereal option and I would have preferred a buffet breakfast as I don't know what I fancy for breakfast the night before.
Old style pub in the heart of the Peak District
We waited 90 minutes for breakfast ! Seriously?
Location is excellent for Chatsworth. Friendly staff in reception and bar. Ample car parking. Excellent breakfast choices.
Shower water pressure was ver low sometimes a trickle!
We had a pretty room No1
Lovely and bright.
The bar and the hotel staff were exceptional, couldn't fault them.
poor decoration, needs new carpets, terrible plumbing to the radiator, booked breakfast for 9:40am served it at 10.05am. But, a wonderful bar I loved how dog friendly they are and the staff were brilliant but it's definitely not worth £225 a night. Other members of my family stayed at the Cavendish Hotel and although that was £375 a night whilst visiting the hotel, I can see why. The Devonshire arms is £100 a night overcharged.
Location good , clean.
Unstaffed, no staff present at check in or check out, reception not manned, had to go into pub to find staff to help. When eating staff member asked if wanted dessert - walked off 20 minutes later still no return... and never returned, so left.
Paid extra for dog, no dog care items in room, had to request.
Very convenient location
Clean and comfy room

Accueil trés sympathique et ambiance chaleureuse. Emplacement ideal pour visiter le « Peak District » - tres bons petits-déjeuners et restaurant-pub de qualite.
Rien à changer. Tout est trés bien. Merci.
