Location. Staff.
Decoration of room.
Some of the staff were friendly others less so.
Very disappointing stay - the room was small and stuffy. The price was expensive for the quality of the room and service.
Fab position and friendly staff
Nothing 😊
The staff were super friendly , the evening bar food was beautifully presented and delicious - the rooms had comfortable beds, nice sheets and nice little touches in room.
The rooms themselves were old and a bit cramped and decor a bit dated , floors very creaky and uneven , the breakfast was not good
Food was delicious and good sized portions for breakfast. All the staff were friendly and very helpful when we had requests. Beautiful room and large tea selection!
The Inn was very clean and the bed was very comfortable . I liked the finishing little touch like the complimentary tipple for a nightcap, wellies, maps etc.
The food was very nice and well priced, good selection of items on the menu. Breakfast was cooked to order and not the cattle market buffets you get at some hotels. I asked for coriander and lime with the avocado on toast with eggs and was supplied no problem.
The staff were very attentive at all times and nothing was too much trouble. we were concerned about noise with this being an Inn, but last orders were 9:30 pm which was great so not noisy at all and had a good nights sleep.
There were tables outside for a breath of fresh air either at the front or the back of the Inn and plenty of room to park the car. Great location just 10 min drive to Chatsworth house and 5 mins to the Chatsworth farm shop, which we visited.
Bakewell is also very close by so the Inn is ideally positioned for sight seeing and will be looking to stay again and recommend the inn highly.
Everything was very nice , there was nothing not to like to be honest.
Clean, welcoming, staff were all very friendly and accommodating
Nothing
Well located staff
Cold room since there was no heating
The location was perfect to visit Chatsworth House, the room was clean and the staff was nice. Also the breakfast was tasty and with options for vegetarians and lactose-intolerants.
The bed was a bit too small for two persons.
Location
Dated a bit tired
The room was clean, it had a kettle and a wide selection of teas and biscuits. Good hairdryer.
Bar and dining were good
Overall, our stay was disappointing.
The room was small, and the television relied solely on Wi-Fi. Unfortunately, it wasn't connected to the internet when we arrived, so we had to call reception, who came to the room to set it up. Because the TV was internet-only, we were unable to watch the live World Cup football match we had been looking forward to.
Breakfast wasn't served until 8:30 a.m., which was a problem as we had an early train to catch the following morning. The hotel offered us a packed breakfast, but we were looking forward to a cooked breakfast before a long day of travelling. Instead, we had to eat elsewhere. This was a major disappointment and took away from what was meant to be a special night away.
The hotel refunded us £20 for the missed breakfast, which happened to be the same amount we had been charged for our dog. However, we felt this wasn't adequate, as buying a cooked breakfast elsewhere cost us more. We also thought the £20 charge for the dog was excessive, especially as all that was provided was a small bag containing one ball, two chews and two poo bags.
We had dinner at the hotel, and one of our main courses was dry and burnt. To their credit, the staff removed the cost of that meal from the bill.
Overall, what was supposed to be a quiet and relaxing night away before a busy week of travelling ended up being a disappointing experience. In hindsight, we would have been better off staying at home.
Great food and wines. Great value
The staff are very friendly and helpful
The room is pretty grim. The WiFi is almost non-existent, as is the water pressure in the shower. Breakfast is extremely grim.
Rooms well appointed
Nothing
Great location, lovely bedroom and extras, great food and atmosphere in public bar, excellent service.
The location was excellent, the staff were friendly but the breakfast was poor quality and no variety.
The food could have been better and the booking system for breakfast was ridiculous for so few guests.
Lovely location friendly staff and excellent breakfast
Decor a little dated and room quite small.
Location ideal for Chatsworth House. Also by a footpath along the river and a very pleasant walk. Rooms were good..quite tight but they provided a kettle and tea/coffee and fresh milk available by reception. Delicious biscuits provided too…and a nightcap of port!
Staff friendly and helpful
Service a little slow… we sat for meal at 7 but get any course for 45 mins.
