First off, the receptionists are outright rude, especially the Black receptionist with mini dreadlocks. Immediately after I walked in and told them about my reservation, they both started giggling in a rude and completely unprofessional manner.

After that, they kept me waiting at reception for over 1 hour and 30 minutes, claiming there had been a late check-out and that my room was still being prepared. I never got the room because, apparently, they had given it to another guest and forgotten that someone else had booked it two days earlier.

They then gave me a completely different room from the one I booked on the app, which was basically a downgrade because I specifically booked a room with a balcony, yet they gave me one without a balcony. They also tried to gaslight me by claiming that the rooms shown on the app are not always the rooms guests actually get.

At that point, I had had enough and asked for a refund so I could patronize another establishment. They told me they were unable to process the refund because it was a weekend, which I found extremely suspicious.

At that point, I started documenting everything on video with my phone, while the receptionist was snickering at me. I eventually left the hotel and went to a much better establishment in Obafemi Awolowo, Ikeja, where I was treated like royalty.

By the time I arrived at the next hotel, I received my refund from the so-called manager, who also gave me what felt like a sham apology. It came across more as mockery and an attempt to satisfy “due process” than genuine remorse for the horrible customer service I had received.

I highly advise against staying at this hotel. Save yourself the frustration and take your money elsewhere.

Standby car and driver should be made available to help transport guests after stay.

Room quality and standard is poor compared to the high price. Room is several times lower in quality than on the pictures on Booking.com. It basically feels like deception when you see the room; low ceiling, rough walls, broken cabinet, etc.

Staff are okay in terms of human interaction but look ok tired and underpaid.

Overall, hotel is in a strategic location and profitable but seems not to get enough reinvestments of the profits into improvements and modernisation.

The hotel should arrange to have a car diver on standby that help customers to the airport and other locations when they check out.Choice Grand Hotel
