Location is great, grounds are well maintained and food in restaurant was very delicious and plentiful.
On arrival, our initial accommodation was grubby with stains, crayon and even a shoe imprint on the wall. The bed linen and towels were off white and worn due to repeated laundering and use.
We were moved to a new room next day and, whilst an improvement, still issues with bed linen ( stain ) and towels ( worn ) remained.
Both rooms appear not to have been maintained so that the wear and tear of regular use is very apparent and detracted from our enjoyment.
Check in procedure was not very detailed to the extent that we needed to request the wi-fi code and the process for selecting our evening meal was not explained resulting in confusion and a one hour wait on two evenings for our meal to arrive.
Customer service felt casual and reactive throughout our stay.
On raising my concerns, the management responded and acknowledged the need for improved cleanliness and maintenance, check in procedures and customer service.
I notice that some of the issues I raised appear to have been previously raised by other guests in their reviews also so that the onus is on Winternote management to act upon their good intentions.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Room very spacious and very clean. Very comfortable bed. Nice view from the balcony. Really nice food in the restaurant, room service and really nice swimming pool.
We liked the hotel and the location of the hotel, close to a popular restaurant, to places like the chocolate factory, you can buy spices, teas, everything is there, the hotel itself has a cool interior, but the cleanliness is not very high. Comfortable bed, very nice view from the balcony.
Of the minuses, the water was not in plastic bottles, but just filtered water, and the hotel parking lot was very small, literally three spaces, and he constantly called us and came asking for the keys to repark the car. That is, it was not convenient enough for us and we could not fully relax.

Lovely scenic hotel, overlooking mountains and lots of greenery, you can hear the wonderful wildlife. Our room just needed some TLC and so did the swimming pool. It was about 35-40 minute drive to Lockhart tea factory which was convenient.
The staff seemed very kind but it felt as though the place was run by a slightly inexperienced team as there was some confusion of how our payment for our stay was supposed to be taken (i.e directly through booking.com or cash). This was luckily cleared up. There was also some communication confusion initially around if we could do a late check in - which luckily we could, we were able to check in at 10pm.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. For instance at the restaurant they were happy to accommodate our requests for making the food without cream/ little oil.
The view from our rooms if the ranges was good, we also saw a woodpecker feeding it's young in the adjacent tree.
The gardener's have done a good job - we spotted jackfruit, mango and pomelo trees laden with fruit.
Our rooms were large, clean and comfortable. Wifi was fast, as was any request for room service.
Nothing really. If i had to pick, it would be the lack of options if youre not into rich/ oily food. But the restaurant staff were sweet and tried to do what they could for us. Also, it's not the biggest property, so if you want to walk around you'll need to step outside to the road.

Everything in Winter Note Resort was perfect. From the room with a great view & modern feeling, over the very attentive staff and the great restaurant. Everybody was so nice and helped us with every need we had. Would definitely come back.
