Osaka Ukiyoe Ryokan

We had a large, well priced & comfortable room in a central location but where this Ryoken really shined was the very kind and attentive staff. Ozaki, Kumiko & Yuga were excellent hosts who not only made us feel very welcome, akin to staying with family.

Super friendly and hospitable host, more than happy to provide history of room artefacts and of samurai armour (photoshoot was included in booking).
Prime location next to Hommachi station.
Beautiful room with spacious areas including bathroom and shower. Artwork throughout.

This place is central to everything, very comfortable, and run by an absolute character who is one of the friendliest people in Japan. The room had real items from the Edo period! Don’t miss dressing up as a samurai in the makeshift studio. Exceptional value and an unforgettable part of our trip to Osaka

De ryokan heeft Japanse futonbedden en is groot en schoon. Daarnaast zijn de eigenaren Ozaki en zijn vrouw ontzettend gastvrij: ze vertellen veel over de historische items in de ryokan, doen een fotosessie met je en versturen je briefkaarten. Ook hadden ze verschillende cadeautjes voor ons bij aankomst. Klein detail: de douchekop van Mirable Zero met vernevelingsstand was heerlijk. Tot slot, de locatie van de ryokan is perfect. Op 2 minuten lopen van veel uitgangen van de metro.

We had an outstanding stay in Osaka. Ozaki and his team really went above and beyond and made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. Communication was great from start to finish, and everyone was incredibly kind and helpful.

You can also really feel how passionate Ozaki is about Japanese culture. It’s not just something he talks about, you genuinely feel it throughout the experience, which made our stay even more special.

When it comes to service, Ozaki is definitely boxing in the heavyweight category! 😄 His attention, warmth and hospitality were simply fantastic.

The complimentary Samurai photo shooting is also highly recommended. It was a really fun and memorable experience and a great way to take home a little souvenir from Osaka.

L'host Ozaki è stato davvero fantastico: sempre presente, disponibile per qualsiasi esigenza e capace di farci sentire a nostro agio in ogni momento. È proprio questo tipo di attenzione che fa la differenza e rende un semplice alloggio un’esperienza da ricordare.
La ciliegina sulla torta è stata l’esperienza Samurai, davvero unica e coinvolgente. Un’attività speciale che ci ha permesso di vivere un lato autentico e affascinante della cultura giapponese.
Senza dubbio uno dei migliori alloggi che abbiamo trovato durante il nostro viaggio in Giappone. Non solo per la struttura, ma soprattutto per le persone, l’accoglienza e l’atmosfera che si respira. The two gentlemen Ozaki & Yuga were such great hosts and so welcoming. This was honestly an experience to remember while visiting Japan, we had a photoshoot when we arrived wearing Samurai armor and with my wife wearing traditional Japanese clothing.

Ozaki was so incredibly communicative through our visit even checking to make sure our first night was comfortable or if there was anything we needed.

Ozaki was so incredibly hospitable, despite our brief stay, they made us feel like it was our home away from home.

Dès notre arrivée à Osaka, notre hôte a su rendre notre expérience exceptionnelle : facilité pour les horaires d'arrivée et de départ, photos de toute la famille en costumes de Samourai sur fond vert (génial!), snacks d'arrivée, explications sur la décoration du Ryokan et des objets antiques s'y trouvant.... avant même d'avoir vu la ville nous avions déjà eu une bonne dose de souvenirs!

L'appartement en lui-même est très bien équipé (lave-linge, cuisine, baignoire, télécommandes pour les volets et les lumières, ascenseur, etc.) et bien situé pour découvrir la ville. Également de nombreux Konbini et restaurants dans les environs. La rue est calme, ce qui est un plus après une journée passée à marcher!

De plus notre hôte s'est montré très prévenant tout au long du séjour, s'informant de nos activités et nous donnant des conseils.

Je regarde encore régulièrement les photos de toute notre famille en costume de samourai/geishas et repense à la gentillesse de Ozaki et de sa famille

This Ryokan is such a gem and Mr. Ozaki and the team makes the stay even more wonderful with their hospitality. They made us feel so welcome and my kids loved this place over all others we stayed at in Japan. This is highly recommended for families and the property features all the amenities requred for a family. They top it up with the photoshoot in traditional kimono and samurai attire so you also feel a little part of the local culture and traditions.

The warm welcome from our host was a wonderful experience from the moment we arrived. Our room was spacious, clean, and full of character, featuring many fascinating historical artefacts that our host kindly took the time to explain to us in great detail.

We were particularly touched by all the thoughtful little details that showed how deeply our host is an ambassador of Japanese culture and history. We were also warmly welcomed with lovely gifts and thoughtful touches for every member of our family, which made us feel truly special and cared for.

The location was also excellent — close enough to the main city attractions while still offering a peaceful and authentic atmosphere.

The absolute highlight of our stay was the photo session dressed in samurai attire and Iro-Uchikake, a luxurious traditional kimono for women. It was a unique and unforgettable experience that allowed us to immerse ourselves in Japanese culture. These beautiful photographs and memories will stay with our family for many years to come.

We are incredibly grateful for the hospitality, generosity, and passion for Japanese culture that made our stay so special. It was much more than just a place to stay — it was a truly memorable cultural experience.

Personal / Ausstattung & Lage sowie der Service / Beratung & Hilfe in vielen Belangen war hervorragend. Falls es noch mal nach Japan / Osaka gehen sollte wäre diese Unterkunft meine erste Anlaufstelle. 🇩🇪

Abbiamo soggiornato in una camera da quattro, siamo stati benissimo. L’host e il suo staff ci hanno accolti con calore. Il nostro non è stato un semplice soggiorno, è stato l’incontro con l’essenza della profonda e antica cultura giapponese. Abbiamo soggiornato in una grande camera arredata nello stile tipico del Riokan. Nell’arredo abbiamo apprezzato pezzi di vero antiquariato. Non mancavano tuttavia tutte le comodità come un angolo cucina, una lavatrice con asciugatrice efficientissima. Abbiamo trovato un phon per capelli degno di tale nome e un super specchio da trucco.
Abbiamo potuto, inoltre, conoscere la collezione del nostro host di antiche armature da Samurai e di Kimono. Abbiamo potuto indossarle in un setting fotografico (compreso nel prezzo).
Abbiamo dormito su comodissimi tatami e siamo stati molto bene, avvolti dall’eleganza del contesto. Fuori la metropoli, dentro un tuffo nel Giappone del 1500.

Very comfortable Ryokan with the most amazing hosts. I travel a lot and this kind of friendliness and welcoming I have never experienced before. There were three futon layers per person which made a very good night sleep.

We spent time in many different places throughout Japan, and this ryokan was by far the best place we stayed! The room was even more beautiful than it was in the pictures. It was extremely clean and well kept. But most importantly, the hosts (Ozaki and Yuga) were exceptionally welcoming. Their kindness knew no bounds. They were always there to give us tips on where to eat, or where to go. They gifted us snacks and souvenirs to take home. They even did a photoshoot for us and dressed us in full samurai armor. Looking back at our stay in this ryokan, I have nothing but warm memories. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to anyone looking to sample genuine Japanese hospitality.

What a wonderful place to spend a few days. Ozaki and his family are the warmest and friendliest hosts you can imagine.
The rooms are absolutely gorgeous with all kinds of authentic art and antiques. The beds are comfortable and there is a bathroom and kitchen as well. Our apartment also had a beautiful tatami room.

Ozaki arranged a photo shoot for us in his studio, with authentic samurai armor for my son and me, and beautiful Iro-Uchikake for my wife. What a lovely way to start our stay in Osaka.
