A pleasant stay at a rather odd location.
Pros:

We were given a room in the old house. The room was lovely; large very clean ; comfortable. The decor was also nice. We ate in the restaurant in the evening (we were the only people in it at the time) was delicious, and breakfast was cooked to order and was also good.

Cons:

The main building is an odd shape and there is construction work going on onsite.
It seems mainly to be a golf course and set up for golfers. The ruins of Castle Dargan itself are located within the gold course and whilst it is quite possible to walk there along the path through the golf course, it is a fairly long walk with little or no sign posts. Given that Yeats wrote about the ruins it is sad that the hotel is so uninterested.
