the location is great - it is a 10 minute walk to playa avellanas (bonus - there is a sidewalk the entire way) and many restaurants even closer. the grounds are beautiful for relaxing during the day or evening. the parking is easy to get in & out. Nico is a wonderful host who will answer all of your questions.
the bed took a couple of nights of getting used to. it is a full bed, so a little small for my husband and I to share. and each time one of us moved during the night, the other felt it.

Amazing spot, extremely well kept by the owner Nico and his wife. Perfect blend of a guest hosue/self catering with a great common kitchen. Amazing swimming pool and less than 10minutes walking to Avellanas beach
Very nice accommodation immersed in nature and perfectly located close to Avellana beach and the main cafès/restaurants in the area. The owners are very nice and gave us lot of super useful tips. The friendly dog and cats are a plus!

Too many ants inside the room
Location is great - you can walk to restaurants, a playground, the beach and a little shop.
The lack of breakfast, quality of sheets, no lamps, no shampoo, all made it feel a bit overpriced.
Calipso was for me a gorgeous experience. I liked everything !

- fully equipped kitchen with large storage space
- several space to chill
- very calme
- safe (against human and wild animals thanks to lovely owner’s dog)
- owners living on the spot very available
- very clean garden, swimming pool
- a bar (fresh beers ) and grill at hostel

- Far from grocery store, bank (need a car)
Super Nice place, and host! Very helpful, even with our needs as a group.
Great place, the rooms are not very big, so just know that if you travel with a family (kids) .
And if you need AC just make sure you chose a room with this feature.
The setting is amazing with numerous nooks were you can chill that are shared by the guests. NIco is a great host and we loved cooking in the shared outdoor kitchen!
The rooms are on the smaller size, but clean and adequate and you're probably not spending much time inside.
Nico and his wife are very nice and helpful. We appreciated atmosphere at this property, it is close to the beach and other staff. Not as busy as other spots close Tamarindo even this location starting to be highly recommended. Every morning nice surprise by different kind of animals, like it! Place for JOGA is amazing for chill after surfing!

Host Nico takes very good care of the hotel and supports you in every conceivable way. The communal area is beautifully designed and invites you to linger. The kitchen is well equipped and there is always hot coffee. We felt very welcome and would come back anytime :)
It was incredible! Fantastic spot
A short 5-10min walk and you’re at the beach and thats what its all about here. Also places for lunch and dinner are right around the corner. Rooms are nice and clean, a beautiful small garden and equipped kitchen and an upper deck to relax a little.
As every rooms is directed to the main path of the Hotel you can’t sleep with curtains open and that makes sleeping without an aircon (which we love) not possible. Private terraces are all right next to each other.
