Tamarind Tree Hotel

1) Nous etions 4 adultes et 2 enfants. Nous avons eu un matelas gonflable comme lit d'appoint. C'est la 1ère fois que nous voyons ça ! Même dans un airbnb, il y a un canapé lit/un convertible à la limite.
On nous a proposé le matelas gonflable pour mes enfants de 4 et 7 ans pour qu'ils dorment SEULS à l'étage...Inconcevable. Du coup, c'est un des adultes qui a dormi tout le séjour sur ce dernier et les nuits n'étaient pas agréables.

2) le propriétaire a 3 chiens en liberté dans l'hôtel. Nous ne le savions pas lors de notre réservation. Soucis ma mère a peur des chiens et nous l'avons signalé dès notre arrivée au propriétaire, en lui demandant d'attacher ou de les éloigner. J'ai eu 3 mauvaises expériences avec l'un des chiens qui courrait vers moi en aboyant de manière agressif presqu'à bondir sur moi. C'était fatiguant de devoir surveiller la présence du chien avant chaque sortie du bungalow. D'autant que le jardin "privative" communique avec celui du propriétaire donc impossible d'en profiter sans chien et de laisser jouer les enfants dehors.
Ce qui était vraiment contrariant c'est que je n'ai rien fait pour provoquer le chien mais c'était toujours de ma faute selon le propriétaire...donc ne pas marcher et ne pas marcher vite lorsqu'il pleut dans cet hôtel !

3) les garde-corps de l'escalier extérieur et de la terrasse ne sont pas adaptés au enfants en bas-âge. Absence de garde-corp pour l'escalier intérieur.

4) Quelques travaux de maintenance à prévoir. Pas mal de lumière ne fonctionnaient pas, les serrures des baies vitrés, des moustiquaires aux fenêtres qui méritent d'être changés ou qui ne fonctionne plus.

Wifi from day 1, TV, play area, dogs not attacking the children, softer beds

The owner got our arrival date wrong and he appeared to have been drinking when we arrived. There was no Kettle or coffee. There was no bar service at all the owner said to just help yourself! The breakfast was pretty poor. One of the dogs jumped the fence and tried to attack my husband. The beach is a walk on a busy road about 15 minutes away. We were not impressed!

Dommage qu'il n'y ai pas plus de choix au restaurant le soir .

Access to the rooms is under and inbetween a strangely placed metal stair case and down uneven levels of ground. We had a 90year old person and a visually impaired person who needed assistance in and out every time. The hotel is not set up for physically impaired persons even wheel chair access is challenging with steep pathways. Can I suggest a buggy/ cart to take guest up and down the access road!

Breakfast, complimentary or not, was very, very, very poor. The options was nil! It was fruit, mainly pieces of pineapple, melon and papaya- we were lucky to get a slice passion fruit one day- museli, cold meat, cheese, bread and eggs 4 ways, fry, scambled, boiled or omlete, cluck! cluck!..The local staff tried to accommodate our local palette but I sensed this was not approved by the owners. Such a shame to be in a country where natural and nutritional produce is readily available but not utilised for guest. I may as well have travelled and stayed in Europe!

The bar is for display only it seems. Unless dinner is prebooked..(again one dish only and sorry vegans and vegetarians you don't matter!).. evenings meals, drinks and entertainment is 'fend for yourself'. Good job my family are nearby and we are resourceful.

For my firstime doing a hotel stay in Dominica, overall I dont feel we got value for money so unlikely to return to the Tamarind Tree again.

The same things were served for breakfast every day, more variety needed. Could include local dishes into breakfast.

We loved it! No issues

A remote location, be prepared to wait a while for a bus into Portsmouth, Roseau or Mero beach if you don't have your own transport.

There isn't a lot in the Salisbury area however we found a few local bars in the village and enjoyed chatting with some of the local people there.

The restaurant had limited opening during our stay (just evenings) due to staff shortages and had a set meal each evening.

Non Smoking rooms Great, but smokers on the balcony were annoying

Bathroom floor gets flooded/wet after every use.
Face basin/sink needs repair, water drips while in use.
Toilet didn't flush all the time.
