Breakfast was included and delicious. Owner was very helpful in all aspects. I stayed for 8 nights in the end as I extended my stay, felt right at home.
Only things that could be improved are things the owner has no control over; noise at night and dogs fighting at night - ear plugs are provided and do a great job!
Great location, in walking distance to all the main attractions. The owner was extremely helpful and responsive, arranging taxis, tuk tuks, airport transfer, restaurant bookings. The property was old and historic with lots of character. The restaurant was excellent and very good value. Indeed we ate out at the Leela Palace (fine dining) and whilst the Leela Palace’s Sheesh Mahal’s food was excellent, it was also very expensive. I actually thought the food at the Haveli’s restaurant was nicer (and a lot cheaper). I would definitely recommend trying the restaurant if you’re staying here. You can also get a beer or glass of wine with dinner. The staff team are all very friendly and helpful. The room had fresh towels and the bed made each day by room service. Also fresh bottled water in the room each day. There was a good selection on the breakfast menu which is included in the room price. The coffee was great at breakfast.
I personally found the mattress very uncomfortable (I have problems with back pain and the mattress made my back pain increase). I would suggest a new mattress or maybe a hotel mattress topper would help resolve this. Also the day bed area in the room, the cushions were a little dirty.
The staff were absolutely exceptional - so kind and thoughtful, they really made the stay wonderful :)
Beautiful old Haveli in the center of town. Easy walk to everything. The staff are amazing - friendly and very helpful. They have a very nice rooftop restaurant and the food is excellent.
Due to the nature of Havelis, the accommodation is a little more rustic than in a brand new hotel. The charm far outweighs that issue in my opinion.
Rien
Amazing stay. The staff is extremely good. We loved our stay here
It is located in the heart of the old city and conveniently close to all attractions. Mr Divya took personal care to ensure that we were comfortable and also to help organise experiences within the city
It was nice. It is a very old bungalow converted to a hotel so I am sure that there are limitations with that but they have done a very good job about it
The location is within walking distance to Lake Pichola. The room was appropriate for a short visit in the heart of everything. The bathroom was a good size, with tub and shower accommodations. The staff was very helpful and went overboard to make us feel welcomed.
We would suggest the option for more air ventilation in the room.
The heritage rooms were designed beautifully with a rustic charm. What made our stay memorable was the friendliness and hospitality of the staff. Special mention to Narendra ji who was on toes for any of our requirements and also helped my husband plan a beautiful setup for our anniversary. We are very grateful for that.
The room that we booked had a leakage in the bathroom some issues with wifi, but they did provide us an option to shift in another room
The hotel has good potential
The location is convenient
Staff was friendly and always tried to help
Definitely overpriced for what it offers.
There is no control knob/gear/handle for the bath drain stopper. This makes the bath tub pretty unusable as you can't drain the water yourself, but you have to call someone from the reception.
The shower is "open space" (there is no cubicle) and rivulets of water flow from the bathroom to the bedroom as there is a little ramp between them.
Bed linen and towels were worn out and had stains.
The room had some tiny coloured-glass windows which could not be opened or closed as they were behind a glass panel. As a consequence, the air was dusty and stuffy. One of the windows was right above the bed's headboard and there were no curtains, so the light would shine on us in the early morning and wake us up.
The location is pretty noisy.
There was no security exit.
Food was overpriced - we ordered a lamb dish which was more expensive than average, and it turned out to be mainly bones only with very little meat. The staff was slightly pushy.
Half of the sockets not working
We stayed in one of the "suites" which is as big as a standard bedroom. The dimensions are shown on Booking so it was not a surprise for us, but still we think it's a bit misleading.
Breakfast had limited options. Shaheen and the chef were extremely warm and kind, but the food itself lacked a hotel breakfast experience one looks forward to, and for the price you pay for this stay it felt underwhelming. My recommendation to the owners would be to develop a more extensive breakfast menu as well as offer a buffet style option.
The room amenities and toiletries were also underwhelming. There was no vanity kit, no cotton pads/ Q-tips, the soap/ shampoo / quality was okay at best; there was no body wash in the room. There also is no coffee / nespresso machine in the room for travellers who prefer to take coffee in the am.
The property is a 300 year old building and such a gem!
The street is really noisy
Outstanding property. Lovely hotel with heaps of heart. The hotel has been restored and feels really authentic. The hotel was a quiet oasis in the middle of the old city. Amazing hot showers and a bath. Slippers, bath robe, toiletries provided. Welcome notes & gifts on departure. We loved the staff here. They made the stay perfect. We want to make a special mention to Nardndra Manager who looked after all the things we requested. The food was some of the best we have eaten. The chef is a magician. Kalyan Singh & Ghanshyam Singh served us extremely attentively during our evening meal and in the morning Shaheen served us.
There was nothing we could want that wasn’t provided. Thank you.
Nothing.
The staff was amazing. The attention we received was excellent. The food was good. This is a unique hotel. We loved it all!
A little hard to get to.
A gorgeous historical building in the magnificent city of Udaipur, and close to the palace and lake. Staying here really feels like experiencing a little piece of history with some lovely personalised little touches.
The rooftop and restaurant is the highlight of this property - it is absolutely gorgeous, so tastefully created - and the food is excellent. We had lovely, quirky, cosy rooms with bath tubs. The hotel also upgraded us on arrival which was hugely appreciated, and organised a private yoga class for us which was a great way to start the day.
Some of the staff were truly wonderful, and overall we felt very welcomed. There were a few moments where things seemed to get a bit lost in translation - even with a fluent Hindi speaker in our group - so a few requests at the restaurant and reception needed repeating, and at times we were encouraged to speak directly with the hotel manager. The stairs are also quite steep, so something to keep in mind for anyone with mobility concerns. In one of our rooms, the bed was set in a cosy alcove, though without bedside lamps, which meant we couldn’t see to read in bed. The price was certainly on the higher side - our most expensive stay across Rajasthan. The streets around the property can be a little noisy, on one night we were woken up by scooters and dogs, though of course that’s not something the hotel can control.
Excellent service. Manager offered surprise gift for my wife’s birthday. Best chef in all hotels we stayed in. Great roof garden with splendid view over the city. Very clean albeit small room. Decoration well done in original state.
Important to improve WiFi reception as no traveller can hardly do without.
