Pros:

The view is great, but the place is completely isolated with nothing around and a bad road to reach it. We really enjoyed the landscape but there were no facilities at all at the room, not even warm water, and nothing around to buy or eat so we did not have such a comfortable stay. Also the communication was not that successful with the manager of the place. Also the kitchen is shared as well as the balcony.

I was late arriving and the check in process / access to the building was a little confusing at first but the owner was very responsive and arrived quickly.

Vue magnifique de la chambre enfin si il fait beau, nous n'avons pas eu cette chance en début février. L'espace cuisine disponible en bas et la salle pour manger très agréable.

Cons:

Manque de VMC ou ventilateur car a 4 le taux d'humidité ne descend pas et les serviettes et linge sont trempé et la clim non réversible, impossible de la mettre au dessus de 21 quand il fait 10 dehors..

Highly Recommended For Quiet Nature Lovers!
Pros:

As a couple staying 4 nights, we chose one the larger rooms with two beds and the second floor with a terrace and a stunning view over the beautiful Hule (extinct) Volcano Lake. This new building with contemporary architecture fitted our style perfectly. It is owned by the local rural community and sits at the hub of this tiny village. The shower was the best we experienced in Costa Rica, with good water pressure from the rain showerhead and consistent water temperature.

The large "shared" kitchen has a table and 4 chairs, a big fridge, electric stove and sink. . . along with plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, and pots. There is a dining room with 3 tables and many chairs ,but events and parties are "strictly forbidden". We are surmising that the community originally intended that building to be used for wedding parties or other events, but they likely quickly found out how such parties can involve much too much noise for such a peaceful, quiet village.

There is a very good, older, charming local restaurant just a block away with similar wonderful views. Be aware they close at 6:00 PM "sharp"! The bird life in the area is good with hummingbirds and even Toucanets to be found. There are also plenty of chickens that provide roosters crowing in the morning. There is also a kayaking tour opportunity.

Cons:

There is absolutely NO place to unpack your suitcases in any of the 3 rooms. No rack or hooks for hanging clothes, no drawers, not even a place to open and access your bags conveniently. We discussed this with the wonderful lodge manager and he very kindly brought us a hanging rack from his own home. If the community would furnish the rooms to be more comfortable and convenient it is likely that people would stay for longer than just one or two nights.

The kitchen needs basics like salt and pepper, some herbs and spices r, a toaster, and a new frying pan.

The location is at the top of an extremely steep hill. If you have a small, underpowered car, there is an alternative route but that road is filled with the worst potholes we've ever seen in the many countries we've visited. Although the access is not easy, the stay is absolutely worth the journey !
