Very nice place and very friendly staff.
Pros:

Good. Typical Costa Rican breakfast.

Cons:

Walk to the beach was a little longer and difficult than we had anticipated based on the description of the property. We ended up having to drive to the beach instead of walking. We were supposed to have a room with a garden view, however, it appeared that they were re-doing the roof so the room faced a staging area for ladders and roof tiles.

We changed our itinerary to stay at Siwõ on our way back to Liberia.
Pros:

We were super happy with the guesthouse- The location was perfect, beach was glorious, kitchen was decent, pool was perfect as well..
Pesky animals were very patient and only stole scraps.

Cons:

The restaurant nearby is fine, but very tourist oriented.. The local Supers have loads of great groceries, so not an issue for us..

Modest small and affordable hotel with slightly outdated rooms
Pros:

The common areas are inviting and the location is quiet in Ocotal. The pool is small and quaint with potential for a poolside bar but often not attended. Relative to most other stays nearby this place is affordable.

Cons:

The decor in the room seems pretty tired and the trim a bit worse for wear. The bed was a bit thin. Not the worst place by any means but the rooms in particular could be improved. Can't complain too much relative to the price.

Pros:

Kind people that just started this guesthouse in May 2025. They are upgrading it bit by bit so maybe it looks different next month then it did last week but it was a nice comfortable stay near the beach.
