Magnetic Island Resort Studio

Just the instructions to find our cabin were not very detailed and it took us a while to find it while carrying our luggage.

Sehr schmutzige Stuhlpolster, schmutziger Vorhang, Schimmel am Duschvorhang. Schmutzige Wände, Eidechse in der Dusche.
Lieber ein bisschen mehr bezahlen und ein schönes Zimmer durch die Hotelrezeption buchen, statt von einem privaten Anbieter.
Wir haben reklamiert und der private Vermieter hätte uns die letzte Nacht stornieren lassen. Uns war dann aber der Umzug in ein anderes Hotel zu mühsam und zu kurzfristig… hatte bereits am ersten Tag reklamiert und leider keine Nachricht erhalten.

The room and linen smelt of mildew. There was visible mould on the curtains (which were falling down), in the bathroom and on the chair cushions. The was dust and dirt in the bathroom beside the vanity and washing machine and on the spare blankets and doona. I washed the sheets and towels on the second day as they did not smell fresh. I let the owner know and they told me it was clean and that my standards were too high. Would not recommend nor book this room again.

The room did have a musky smell and some mold

The $8 tiny ice cream bowl from the restaurant. Not at all the units issue though. Everything about the room was great! Nothing I didn’t like.

Apart from finding 3 or 4 cochroaches every morning, we didn't get a feeling that the accommodation was cleaned thoroughly, photo shows cushions. Many mosquito bites by the morning. The photo shows just my knee. Also, we were 3 but table only had 2 chairs.

I would say Personally didn't like the memory foam mattress on the bed to soft for me it gave me a bad each morning. The memory pillows are to big and chunky plus im likely allergic to them too (latex) luckily there was one different pillow which I took on.

Being easter weekend I guess we were lucky the restaurant was open fri sat and sunday not sure why it wasn't open on mon am?
However every time I ordered over breakfast and dinner 2 nights they had ran out of a sauce or bun or couldn't get to the icecream cos closed kitchen already! Sorry sorry sorry I heard alot.
These things happen I know I didn't complain the staff were doing there best!
Although I did get over charged they said surcharge I said yes I understand but that's still alot I asked for the receipt they had charged me for a meal I didn't want because they wanted to give me sour dough bread instead of a brioche bun for my chicken slider! I said no I don't like sour dough I didnt enjoy my toast this morning. Thought they took it off then I asked for another kids meal as I didn't want the over cooked steak again. Refunded cash no problems. Sorry sorry.

Nutragrain on the menu was not the nutragrain as we knew it. They did change the cereal for us my little one turned his nose up lol.
All our meals came out seperately. One child's meal, then about ten mins later the other kids meal seems they gave us someone else's child's meal as they had another of what first child had. Then my steak eventually cane out after 2 sauces they didn't have by the time I got it it was overcooked!
Restaurant Spoilt it abit for me.
But I wanted somewhere I didnt need to bring my own food or cook.
Which it had except mon closed missed our breakfast. And boys were sad they missed out on there last go at tennis reception was closed too.
But we enjoyed the pool.

Don’t think the previous wonderful reviews matched the apartment. So we were a bit disappointed when we arrived.

Name of property was a bit misleading - it was labelled Magnetic Island Resort and it was actually Amaroo. Took us a while to find it. No receptionist on Sundays It took a while to get in to the unit. A shame that the restaurant “Up the Garden Path” was closed on Monday and Tuesday. The menu was not the same as the menu online.
