Pros:

Nola and Richard were amazing hosts. Nothing was a problem and they are lovely people. The room was beautiful and spacious, with a very large ensuite. Perfectly set up for a later start with a leisurely coffee or tea. Located right on the main street, food, drinks and attractions are within 5 minutes casual stroll. 5* would highly recommend

Location was great, rooms were spacious and neat and tidy. Loved the little sitting area.

Cons:

I wasn't advised the hotel was closed and I specifically wanted to stay at a placed with accomodation and food options. Not too far to go but bad if you have mobility issues and are not told

The Palace York was the best location to stay I never knew existed.
Pros:

Did not have breakfast as needed to head off early.
Room was spacious, clean and well presented. Large ensuite
bathroom felt luxurious. Bed was good and extra pillows and blankets were available.
Parking was readily accessible and the value for the room was great.
Location to town was easy walking distance to anywhere.

Cons:

Minor issue of water pressure in the shower was a bit weak.
TV was a bit of a trial to navigate. Nothing to put us off coming back.

Ein wirklich schönes Haus in einer ausgezeichneten Lage. Schon bei der Ankunft fühlte ich mich durch den warmen und freundlichen Empfang sofort willkommen. Die Zimmer sind beeindruckend groß. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt.
This is a wonderful property in an absolutely excellent location. From the moment I arrived, the warm and friendly reception made me feel genuinely welcome. The rooms are impressively spacious. Overall, a truly pleasant stay.

A wonderful place to stay in York and a warm, kind and generous owner (Nola). Thoroughly recommended
Pros:

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at The York Palace in December 2025. We had a great room and the hotel enjoys a great location. The owner, Nola, was extremely warm and friendly. She gave us great recommendations for drinks/dinner that evening. She also went out of here way to find us a UK to Australia electric plug adaptor, as we forgot to bring one with us. Not only did she find one but she insisted we keep it, as she knew this was our first night in Australia and she didn't want us to struggle for the rest of our holiday. We offered to pay but she refused. Nola is a great host and offers a great place to stay. We would thoroughly recommend it.
