This is an excellent Hotel for both relaxing and getting to know Costa Rica. Arnold and his team provide top of the class services. We can highly recommend Epic Tamarindo Hotel.
Very Modern and clean with a nice boutique hotel feel. We moved up to the two bedroom units which are spectacular. Very attentive staff and a great pool area.
A bit isolated. Also, place needed constant cleaning given the bugs which i would think are a common thing in Costa Rica.
Le petit déjeuner correct, un personnel sympathique
Le bruit chaque soir des voisins a l’extérieur de l’hôtel
INFERNAL !
The accommodation is extremely well thought out, modern and clean. The breakfast every morning was delicious and different everyday with the chef even taking special care to cater for our picky teenagers. The team at Epic provide second to none service, helping with any and every request, from food deliveries, support with our rental car to restaurant recommendations and recommendations for tours and excursions.

We had an amazing stay at Epic Tamarindo with our family! Arnold and the team went above and beyond to make us feel special—every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The villa was spotless, beautifully furnished, and had everything we needed. Breakfast each morning was exceptional, with delicious food and outstanding service. Highly recommend for a relaxing and memorable getaway.

My girlfriend and I stayed three nights in a couple's suite at this beautiful boutique hotel, and we loved so much about it. The suites and villas are all brand new, modern, and beautifully designed. The main infinity pool offers stunning views of the surrounding nature, forest, and hills. And the property is made even more charming by roaming peacocks and a friendly cat.
Arnoldo was especially helpful with recommendations and service requests. His tip to visit Gracia at Mar Vista in Flamingo was a highlight. (Book a 5:00–5:30pm dinner reservation to catch the ~6:00pm sunset.) Housekeeping was excellent, cleaning twice a day and restocking our filtered water daily.
Our suite was spacious, private (no shared walls or sight lines), well-equipped, and luxurious. The bed was large and very comfortable, and all appliances worked perfectly. Breakfast was served next to the pool with a beautiful view and felt like a personalized experience.
We visited in the “rainy season” of late May and loved the quiet, intimate feel, with only a few other guests around. The small size of the hotel (about 12 rooms total) made it feel exclusive and serene. The location is peaceful and secluded, yet only a 15-minute drive from downtown Tamarindo or Flamingo.
On our first morning, I got a flat tire, and the maintenance staff helped change it while Arnoldo directed us to a nearby shop for repairs—turning a potential trip-bummer into just a minor inconvenience. The staff here truly went above and beyond.
While breakfast was delicious, the experience felt a bit rigid. You must reserve a time the night before, and there’s no menu...just a surprise meal based on your preferences and allergies. Our first morning featured phenomenal pancakes that were never offered again. In hindsight, we could have asked for specific foods, but we didn’t know what the options were. A small menu and slightly larger portions would improve the experience.
The main infinity pool closes around 7pm (understandably, as it’s near the villas and gets dark by 6pm). Each couple’s suite has its own small pool, but ours often had bugs and debris. A heated pool or hot tub open later (like 9–10pm) would’ve been a nice option, as other hotels offer.
Our suite had some water leakage issues, but they were resolved quickly. However, the room lacked a safe for valuables, which would have been appreciated. Also, there’s very little privacy within the suite: no doors for the bathroom or shower. While this is common in modern couples’ hotels, we still would’ve preferred some separation to change in private.
Finally, like many (but not all) Costa Rican hotels, toilet paper can’t be flushed. You’re expected to discard used paper in a small trash can beside the toilet. For guests from the U.S., this can be a jarring adjustment. Unfortunately, the smell of shit can drift into the bedroom before the trash is emptied, which detracts from an otherwise romantic atmosphere. We understand it's a regional infrastructure issue, but travelers should be prepared.
Arnold was a fantastic host. Beautiful property, conscientious staff and freshly cooked breakfast everyday by the pool. Magical place, well located to explore the area.
It's a very beautiful property with comfortable rooms. Great staff!
They cooked us breakfast everyday. Unfortunatley it bothered both of our stomachs. We always eat very clean. It must have been the oil they fry everything in. They could improve things with a healthier menu.
Attention to detail was impeccable, pool very relaxing, the bed was SO comfortable- I have never slept so well!
Distance from beach and Tamarindo/restaurants etc
New very nice and quiet. Great location
Everything was sensational & I just loved the staff & the peacocks!
I liked everything.
Quiet, peaceful and convenient location about 10-15 minutes from the center of Tamarindo and beaches. Fresh delicious breakfast every morning. Super helpful manager and staff. We stayed in a suite which was spacious and well stocked; took advantage of the plunge pool which was refreshing in the heat. Also enjoyed the peacock friends :)
Stop searching and book now. This place (the "Epic Boutique Hotel Tamarindo", Costa Rica) is an oasis, offering both family suites and couples (which each come with an individual small pool) there is a larger pool, and everyone can use.
The breakfasts are delicious, made with love, each day offering a new Costa Rica inspired flavor (you can also request a traditional omelet, egg made your way and more).
Arnold and the rest of the staff are fantastic, making sure your every need is met, restaurants recommended, offering favorite spots to visit, and more.
Arnold set up a yoga instructor to come on site, it was wonderful.
This spot is an oasis for those couples needing to reconnect, girl and guy friend get away, looking to sit at a bon fire and catch up, swim in the morning sun , families looking for a great spot away from the busy beaches, but close enough to be at flamingo or Tamarindo within a 10-20 min drive.
Cannot say enough great things, this is boutique, catered experience, come see for yourselves ♥️💕😎
This place is absolutely amazing!!!
Incredible first class attention from Arnoldo, all the staff and the chef.
Rooms are spacious, new and clean, and the private pool is just excellent.
The smaller size of the hotel allows you to receive an ad-personam treatment that it’s impossible to get even at the best hotel chains.
Totally recommended!
Nothing.
The room was a unique masterpiece of design, and extremely comfortable. Our host was more than willing to assist us each day in arranging for places to see and things to do. Breakfasts were good.
Was a bit strange to see such a perfect property, with significant funds invested, but with virtually the entire property covered in less than perfect artificial turf … would benefit hugely from a garden consisting of the beautiful and colourful plants natural to the area. Also needed to make a half hour trip into town for dinner, with very poor night time driving conditions. Otherwise, a perfect property!
