Goed uitvalsbasis voor wilpattu maar verwacht er niet teveel van

Het uitzcicht aan het zwembad en dat je dichtbij Wilpattu zit

Cons:

Voor deze hoog prijs verwacht ik er meer van. Er liep zoveel personeel. Ze doen alles voor je als je het ze vraagt maar er is 0 proactiviteit. Zo was het zwembad best vies en moesten we er om vragen om het schoon te maken. Volgende dag hetzelfde, toen hebben we het maar zelf gedaan. Ook in het restaurant, veel personeel, maar weinig kwaliteit. Ook js er geen vergunning voor alochol, dus alleen maar non, geen ramp, wel beetje raar..

Heerlijke plek
Pros:

Mooie familiekamer met groot diep bad. Er was een fijn zwembad met uitzicht over de tuin en groot meer. Aardige mensen bij de balie. Ze hebben een geweldige safari voor ons geregeld tegen een goede prijs en met uitstekende gids en chauffeur. Je ontbijt en lunch wordt goed verpakt meegegeven. Echt aanrader!

Het restaurant was middelmatig qua eten en vrij duur.

Zeer OK voor een dag Wilpattu
Pros:

Ligging tov Wilpattu is super, mooi gebouw, mooie kamers, goede bedden, gids en driver (Jianith en Lio) die ze geregeld hadden voor de safari waren top, ontbijt- lunchpakket voor de safari in orde, diner buffet was ok (Coco Hut vlakbij is veel authentieker en lekkerder).

Cons:

Kamer zat vol kleine mieren (en andere heel kleine beestjes), lawaaierig (muziek bleek uit het eigen restaurant te komen om 4u in de ochtend waar men de ontbijtpakketten aan het maken was), hotel had aangeboden om mee naar een ATM te rijden (manager reed zowaar zelf met de tuk tuk van het hotel, samen met nog een andere hotelgast) en vroeg hier voor mijn rit 2.000 LKR voor achteraf - duurste rit in Sri Lanka tot dusver 🤔 Hotel heeft héél veel potentieel maar er is nog (management) werk.

Stayed here as to older male travellers to visit safari park, amazing hotels, stunning food and fantastic staff, having travelled Sri Lanka before this hotel has been one of the best

Lovely hotel but was soulless the night we stayed because of no other guests. Staff organised keep safari for us at Wilp

Very good quality hotel and rooms

Cons:

We were the only guests on the night we stayed. Restaurant staff looked after us but there was no wine or beer (no alcohol allowed). This is not normally a big issue but we wanted to celebrate an anniversary with some drinks - we would have liked to have known before, we could have brought our own.

Pros:

Lekker dichtbij het Wilpattu park. We hebben hier een duik genomen na de safari, en in het restaurant gegeten. Het hotel heeft een buffet, en het is niet de meest authentieke lokale keuken maar het smaakte ons zeker wel. Comfortabele kamer met een mooi terras met zicht op het meer.

A hidden gem
Pros:

Thimbiri Wewa is a wonderful little hotel near Wilpattu National Park. Great location and atmosphere. Staff are friendly. The food at the restaurant is tasty and provides a good mix of Sri Lankan and international options. The rooms are comfortable. The beds are firm (which suited us well). This is a good place to get away from it all.

Cons:

Signage is lacking - for example, there is nothing to tell guests that the restaurant is a separate building near the entrance to the property. Wifi is AWFUL - signal kept dropping and was extremely slow. Rooms are a little dated and the placement of light switches makes absolutely no sense. There were also a lot of ants.

De var meget hjælpsomme, vi havde en syg datter som de bekymrede sig meget om. De hjælpe med læge og transport, serverede mad på værelset osv. Hjælpsomhed helt i top 😊

Kamer vol met mieren en andere insecten, ook tussen de lakens etc. Oplossing vanuit hun was de kamer volspuiten met mieren gif waar we vervolgens verzocht werden in te slapen omdat er geen andere kamers vrij waren zogenaamd
