The room was big.

Cons:

The property itself I felt like the maintenance could have a little bit more improvement.. our hallway light was out.. So fine in our room at night time was pretty difficult. There is no AC.

Rooftop bar was closed. I waited over an hour for my steak dinner. I will never stay here again!

The staff, food, and location were amazing.

Cons:

Housekeeping was our only concern. On the first day, our room was not properly serviced — only the towels were changed. The bathroom rags were left wet and soaked, and no one refreshed them. Additionally, the fan was never serviced and remained extremely noisy throughout the night.

A Loyal Guest No Longer Welcome
Pros:

Kitchen staff were great, housekeeping manager was terrific on numerous occasions but was our ranked by the front office staff (employee of the month) whom overshadowed her efforts to make my stay comfortable.

Cons:

I have stayed at this property many times over the years and once felt valued as a guest. However, since the recent change in management, the atmosphere has shifted dramatically. The warmth and recognition that used to define this hotel are gone. Staff no longer acknowledge returning guests, and even the “employee of the month” interactions left me feeling dismissed rather than appreciated. When I mentioned my loyalty, the front desk simply shrugged, and I was told that “policies have changed”.

What made this stay in early September unbearable was not only the indifference but also the nickel-and-diming tactics. After repeatedly staying here, I was insulted when they tried to charge me $50 just for asking for a towel. That was the final straw. I could no longer overlook the persistent flaws: shower drainage problems where dirty water pooled around my feet, and mattresses so uneven that one side was lumpy while the other sagged in the middle.

I was so disappointed that I checked out early. Loyalty clearly means nothing here anymore. And in hindsight, I realize I was missing out — there are far better hotels in Kenya with professional front desk staff, genuine hospitality, and amenities that actually work. I will not be returning to Gem Suites.

The spacious apartments and their lay out.

Cons:

Only on one occasion, when I ordered food in the restaurant by the main reception desk, the sandwich arrived an hour and half later, after I chased up my order. But the food was tasty when it eventually arrived.

Well located to explore Nairobi
Pros:

The property is in a very nice area and the staff is truly kind and always happy to help. Breakfast chef making the omelette was nice and helped us getting food when there was no fruit left. The room is big and spacious.

Cons:

The room was very clean but bathroom could do with more attention to details, especially the shower.

Pros:

⭐ 5 out of 5 stars

Absolutely loved my stay here! The accommodation was spacious and cozy, with a huge room and a large ensuite bathroom. The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and attentive — they even called me at 4:30 am to make sure I woke up for my flight! Truly outstanding service and great value for money. Highly recommended!

Pleasant stay at Riverside
Pros:

Breakfast is good just need to cover the fruit from insects; however, staff always make sure that you're enjoying your meal.

Cons:

Mattress are two put together and one is not as firm...lumpy...not good for people with back problems. Timer on elevators needs to be adjusted.
