Nice hardware, ***HORRIBLE(!!!!!!)*** software
Pros:

Staff was friendly and welcoming. Room was large and bed was very comfortable.

Cons:

1) As a foreigner traveling in Xinjiang, I had just been to the extreme west in Ili, and stayed at local hotels without any questions. However, in Fukang, a city next to Urumqi, I was asked a boatload of questions where I have been, when did I arrive, how did I travel to the hotel(!), where have you been the past few days, what flight did you take, etc... The staff was entirely unequipped to handle such question - it is as if a foreigner has never stayed at this hotel before.

2) The room was rather quite excellent. Everything was brand new. However, the housekeeping staff may lack proper training - the little bottles of shampoo and body soap in the shower were empty! Someone had used them and they had not been replaced.

3) Breakfast was horrible. They had a coffee machine which was not turned on. After it was turned on, there was no coffee beans. Then there was no water in the tank. There was no sugar available in packet form. And the staff handled the entire process atrociously - they had to be prompted EVERY step of the way. Finally, the egg station was not open despite that it was 8am and there was staff available at the egg station. They said that eggs would only be available after 8.30am, an explanation truly inexplicable to me!
