Pros:

We booked 2 Double Bed rooms at Stonetown View Hotel but on arrival we were told that no room is available. So we were asked to move to another hotel names The Island Stonetown Hotel and offered complementary breakfast. The hotel was stinky, fridges not working, AC dripping water, Bulbs not wrking, No Towel or Toiletry. After changing 3 rooms, we had to fit in one double bed and one single bed room. Wifi was not working at nights. We were given breakfast timings from 6-10am, but there was no staff in kitchen even at 7am and we had to leave without breakfast both days..

I love my stay at StoneTown View Hotel. Since I traveled alone, I felt like a family member at the hotel because everyone was so nice to me and always polite and helpful. I will definitely come back to this hotel!!! Thank you very much again.

Cons:

I made a booking and money was taken from my account without my permission, even though it stated that payment would only be made at the property. It has been a month and I haven’t received a refund. They are scammers, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Si on cherche un endroit juste pour y dormir, c’est parfait!
Pros:

Le prix, imbattable, avec une situation facile d’accès et idéalement placé vers le souk.

Cons:

L’hôtel est un peu… décrépi. Mais la clim fonctionne, il y a tout ce qu’il faut, et pour le prix, on peut pas attendre plus !

I would not recommend it at all
Pros:

Staff was nice but their booking system was not working so it took some time to find a room.

Cons:

Really dirty, towel where yellow. There was moldy on the whole bathroom. Marks everywhere on the bedroom walls. Not clean at all. I would not recommend it to anyone. Localisation was good.

Désespoir à Zanzibar
Pros:

Rien, nous avons annulé en arrivant, la chambre ne correspondant à la réservation,pas l'établissement comme écrit par l'hôte, honoré 1 nuit pour 80.000 tsh, et eu la désagréable surprise que l'hôte n'avait rien fait alors qu'il avait promis.

Pas de serviettes, terrasse, moustiquaire, bureau, coffre-fort, balcon, pas de commande pour la clim bloquée sur 16°, bouilloire...et vue sur des tôles sous la fenêtre (111)

Too noisy
Pros:

For the tightest of budgets it was an excellent choice, simple lodging at the heart of the Zanzibar city. Surrounded by cheap local restaurants and close to the port it was very convenient for access to the stone town and port to Dar es Salaam Ferries.

Cons:

Well, it was too simple... Guest-house like logging and since it was on the road to the horbour and ferries it was too noisy from the hawkers selling tickets. The place needs a lot of fixing up from flickering lights to missing shower knobs and no towels. No parking space and breakfast is just eggs, toast and a couple of fruit slices. Definitely not suitable for a family stay.
