Location and clean
Nothing
Great Hotel with lovely friendly staff. Breakfast included, free bike hire. It's a 20 min walk to the old town which I don't mind.
All Good
Great value, friendly helpful staff, quiet location though not too far from anything.
Great massages on site
The bed was a tad hard.
The shower was hot and the breakfast was brilliant
This hotel should remember how much first impressions count…I arrived after a 10 hour bus journey and a 15 minute walk very sweaty and tired to be met by the most unpleasant receptionist I have encountered in Vietnam. Before I’d even had a chance to catch my breath she was asking for payment.
I stayed for two nights and observing how the hotel works it was clear they only really care about the large tour groups they have staying…solo travellers don’t matter to them. They were all smiles and photographs with the big groups while I went totally ignored. Later on that day after taking my laundry to a shop over half the price of the hotel down the street (they weren’t getting anymore of my money at that point!) I walked back into the reception and purposefully said hello to the receptionist (in the UK we like to kill with kindness) and she didn’t even look up at me. She honestly made me feel really upset and for the first time in my travels around Vietnam pretty lonely. I’m used to meeting genuinely helpful kind Vietnamese people and she was so mean spirited. I wondered if it was cause after being asked for payment straight away I said I’d like to see the room first - this is totally standard. I’ve had some not so great experiences before with mouldy rooms, would you buy a car without a test drive???
On the other hand the young male night receptionist was so sweet and I felt sorry for him that he has to work with that woman.
Once I was shown the room I expressed concern about how noisy the rooms facing the road might be and she totally dismissed this - I was on the third floor and you hear traffic from about 5.30am….through ear plugs. There is no insulation on the balcony doors at all. Noisy hotel, rude receptionist, don’t care about solo travellers….wish I’d never stayed there.
Great breakfasts, lovely pool, great staff and facilities!
Pool. Included breakfast. Friendly staff. Walking distance or short taxi from old quarter.
Everything was great.
Nice hotel with big rooms and nice balcony views
It’s quite near the Hoian Town
Friendly staff
Breakfast should be more choices
Limited but always fruit and toast and plenty of tea and coffee
Nothing
It was my 4th stay at sunshine and I will be returning again next year the breakfast is fantastic all the hotel staff will go the extra mile for you it's location is perfect 10 mins walk to the old town and approximately 20 mins walk to the paddy fields and han bang beach I would 100 percent recommend the sunshine hotel
We found the hotel and staff perfect, friendly and very helpful. The only down side was could not direct the shower head
Clean, comfortable and good location.
Second Time Staying & Will Stay Again.
Great value for money, in a good location about a 20 minute walk from old town, the staff were absolutely amazing and so friendly
Beds were a little hard and could of done with another pillow on the bed. Bathroom also had a funny smell
Very friendly and attentive staff
Very good value for money. Lovely clean pool but cold and rainy during our stay so we did not use. Very helpful staff.
A bit far from town once you’ve walked it 4-5 times. A lot of traffic noise.
nice hotel and friendly and helpful staff, location was a little further out of the town than expected but in easy walking distance or minimal taxi ride. The pool was ideal and we made use of this facility most mornings. The provision of free bicycles to use was a nice surprise and with both beach and town within a 20 min cycle ride gave an added flexibility to the stay, the room was a comfortable size and had a good view over the pool.
unfortunately the street light outside were on through the night and the curtains didn't block this out, plus the sliding doors were only single glazed so outside noise passed through although this was only really a concern early morning when vehicles were up and down the road. The main disappointment was the limited choice for breakfast with food confined to bread, rice, cereal, eggs or fruit which was a challenge for my partners dietary requirements and not the amazing spread that other posts had remarked. because we were one of only three guests staying on the first couple of days, we were asked to choose our breakfast for the following day and although the staff did try to accommodate my partners needs the limited choice made it challenging.
