Gangnam Seven Hostel

Unfortunately, my experience at this hostel was quite disappointing.
The biggest issue was the first staff member I met at check-in. She was extremely rude and unfriendly, and her attitude immediately made me feel unwelcome. She behaved as if she owned the place and had no interest in helping. I believe she was from Spain or Brazil, although I’m not completely sure.

The second staff member, Renata, was completely different. She was kind and helpful, and I appreciate that she changed my bedsheet when I brought the issue to her attention.

The room itself was also very disappointing. The bedsheet was grey and, within five minutes of entering the room, I noticed a white substance on it that looked like semen/sperm. Naturally, this made me extremely uncomfortable about sleeping there and raised serious concerns about the cleanliness and hygiene of the bed. I went to Renata, and she kindly changed the bedsheet, but the experience had already made me uncomfortable.

The hostel is also on the second floor and requires using stairs. There is a massage parlour in the basement, and the hostel is quite far from the train station. The location on the map was not very clear, so I got a little lost while trying to find it.

Overall, apart from Renata being nice and helpful, I was very unhappy with my stay. My low rating is mainly because of the extremely rude first staff member I encountered at check-in and the cleanliness issue with the bedsheet.

私が1週間居る間に会った宿泊者は全員中国の方でした。毎日便器に尿を飛ばしたりそこらじゅうに髪の毛が散ったりゴミを出しても片付けない人が居るので毎日清掃が入っているのにその人がいる間はずっと部屋が汚かったです。寝てる間にいつも何回もおならをする人も居ました。ルーズな人が多いばかりかと思いきや、帰国前の荷造りをしていたら何度もこっちに視線を送って来て嫌な顔をする神経質な人も居ました。これまで沢山ゲストハウスを利用して来ましたが、宿泊者のマナーはこれまでで1番悪かったと思います。
あと、シャワーの水勢が弱くて使いにくかったです。
洗濯機はありませんので小銭を沢山作って近くのコインランドリーに行かないと洗濯できません。

Very confusing staff and lack of proper procedures. We had two separate bookings: my friends booked a twin room, but got a 4-bed room with zero explanation. Seeing the extra space, I asked to move into their room, and the staff just said yes without running any standard check-in process or ID check.

Fine for extreme budget travelers, but the total lack of organization and room allocation logic is a red flag

There's a sign telling everybody to quiet down after 10pm since it's bed time, but the staff themselves just chatted and made loud noises in fourth floor hallway at 10:30?! Everybody is following the rules except the staff.......

the cleanliness was not so good. Even if the staff clean every day, it seems like the vacuum doesn't vacuum much...
Also a lot of humidity in the room. And finally, there's a fridge to keep your food, but everyone keep their food without a name or a departure date, there was some rotten food inside. Also there's a "shared kitchen" but no real place to cook and no sink to wash the dishes after eating...

The only negative things is that there is no elevator and with a big suitcase it is a bit tiring!

I cannot recommend this hostel because of a serious safety incident.

1. Upper bunk guardrail – serious safety hazard
The guardrail detached during both of my stays. During my first stay, it fell onto my leg. During my second stay, it detached while I was climbing into the upper bunk, causing me to fall and suffer injuries that required hospital treatment. No traveler expects to end a vacation in the emergency room because of a hostel bed.

At the time of my stay, the guardrail was not secured with screws and detached during normal use. After the incident, the local district office informed me that the rail was a detachable type secured with screws and cable ties.

What disappointed me most was the lack of responsibility afterward. Rather than acknowledging that a guest had been injured by a failed safety feature, the response focused on explaining the bed. I was left with injuries, medical expenses, and lost travel time from an accident that should have been preventable.

2. Motion-sensor light
The motion-sensor light is overly sensitive. Even someone turning over in bed can activate it, flooding the room with bright light and repeatedly disturbing everyone's sleep.

3. Ventilation and maintenance
Although an air conditioner is installed, guests are not allowed to use it. Poor air circulation traps odors in the small dormitory, and I also noticed visible mold on the ceiling and walls.

I am an avid leisure traveler and have stayed in more than 200 hostels around the world. Despite the good location and value, this was the worst hostel experience I have ever had because of a preventable safety failure, the resulting injuries, and the lack of accountability afterward.

因為是晚上10點以後入住，床鋪是髒的，也找不到任何工作人員幫忙，同住的人員很髒還有異味，忍了3天，想溝通換房間，被告知不允許，並且住了了5天，地板一直沒人打掃，衛生間也沒有人消毒，後來同住人去找工作人吵了一架，才有人打掃。新來的住客費用都比我低三分之一，想不明白為什麼多住幾天價格反而更貴？
