Lovely surprise to walk into such a gorgeous space.
Pros:

Gorgeous, clean and spacious

Cons:

I paid £170 and was in it for about 12 hours. £170 felt steep for one night, and although I thought it was lovely, I would probably stay somewhere cheaper next time.

Pros:

Well furnished, comfortable bed, plenty provided in the kitchen

Cons:

The room I was given was located just above the cooling system for the bar/restaurant. This made a low but audible hum all night and then started up at full volume at 7. That was the end of sleep.

We had a good stay
Pros:

We had a good stay and would certainly plan to return. The hotel is in an outstanding location for central Carlisle. Well-equipped room with plenty of space, a very comfortable bed and a useful kitchen area. Choice of coffee and tea was good and the crumpets, butter, marmalade and fresh milk supplied were very welcome.

Cons:

The accommodation is a bit tired and some floor finishes need replaced. Accessibility is patchy so, if you want stair-free access you will have to make a point of asking. Given that we asked for a shower instead of a bath for reasons of access, we shouldn’t really have had to have asked (a couple of stars deducted for this).
