Ein rundum perfekter Aufenthalt!
Pros:

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel war einfach hervorragend. Von Anfang bis Ende hat wirklich alles gestimmt – man kann hier eigentlich kaum etwas bemängeln.

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das außergewöhnlich freundliche und aufmerksame Personal. Alle Mitarbeiter waren stets sehr nett, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Auch die Zimmer waren sehr sauber, ordentlich und gepflegt.

Ein ganz besonderes Highlight war unser Upgrade. Ursprünglich hatten wir eine Sunrise Villa gebucht, durften uns aber über ein Upgrade auf eine Wasservilla freuen – und sogar über Villa 308. Die Villen 307 und 308 sind unserer Meinung nach mit die besten, da man dort einen besonders schönen Ausblick hat, deutlich mehr Privatsphäre genießt und nicht das Gefühl hat, von anderen Gästen beobachtet zu werden. Für uns war das wirklich optimal und hat unseren Aufenthalt noch einmal ganz besonders gemacht. Dafür möchten wir uns nochmals ganz herzlich bedanken!

Auch das Essen war hervorragend. Die Qualität und Auswahl haben uns sehr überzeugt, und wir haben jede Mahlzeit genossen.

Insgesamt war es für uns ein wunderschöner und rundum gelungener Aufenthalt. Wir haben uns vom ersten bis zum letzten Tag sehr wohlgefühlt und würden dieses Hotel jederzeit wieder besuchen. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Cons:

Der größte Kritikpunkt sind die Preise. Essen, Wein und Getränke sind bereits sehr teuer, was bei einem solchen Resort vielleicht noch nachvollziehbar wäre. Beim Wassersport sind die Preise allerdings völlig überzogen und grenzen unserer Meinung nach schon an eine Frechheit. Hier stimmt das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ganz eindeutig nicht.
Auch der Service im Restaurant war leider nicht auf dem Niveau, das man erwarten würde. Gerade morgens beim Frühstück und abends, wenn mehr Gäste im Restaurant waren, wirkte das Personal teilweise völlig überfordert und unorganisiert. Es gab zwar einzelne sehr engagierte und hervorragend ausgebildete Mitarbeiter – insbesondere ein indischer Mitarbeiter, der offenbar eine leitende Funktion hatte, hat sich wirklich sehr bemüht und einen hervorragenden Job gemacht. Beim übrigen Servicepersonal wurden jedoch regelmäßig Bestellungen vergessen. Wenn man beispielsweise drei Dinge bestellt hatte, konnte man fast sicher sein, dass mindestens eines davon nicht gebracht wurde.
Besonders chaotisch war es, wenn die Gerichte aus der Küche kamen: Mitarbeiter standen mit dem Essen im Restaurant und wussten teilweise nicht einmal, an welchen Tisch die Bestellung gehört. Dadurch entstand insgesamt ein ziemlich unorganisierter Eindruck.
Ein weiterer deutlicher Minuspunkt sind die Fahrräder. Je nachdem, in welchem Bereich der Anlage man untergebracht ist, ist man praktisch auf ein Fahrrad angewiesen. Umso enttäuschender ist es, dass sich die Fahrräder in einem wirklich sehr schlechten Zustand befinden. Viele sind stark verrostet, teilweise kaum noch fahrbar und offensichtlich schon lange nicht mehr richtig gewartet worden. Man fragt sich tatsächlich, ob diese Fahrräder noch aus der letzten Kolonialzeit stammen. Bei einem Resort dieser Kategorie sollte man hier dringend investieren.

Pros:

We stayed at Bawe island for 2 nights of our honeymoon, in one of the Lagoon Suites, which was absolutely stunning.
We had the most amazing stay. The food was amazing, the facilities were beautiful, and Josephina and all the staff were incredible. It was a lovely unexpected touch to give everyone bikes to get around the island.

Cons:

Nothing - we had the best stay. The only downside was that we had to pay $500 USD extra for the airport/speedboat transfer as we were staying for only 2 nights, which seems quite pricey.

This was an amazing value for money, amazing staff and beautiful setting
Pros:

The location and setup is very beautiful, it’s private and it has a beautiful pool and beach. We had a dedicated concierge and we were picked up by hotel staff before security which was a life saver since our evisa hadn’t yet been approved and we had no issues since the hotel staff helped us. It is a first and worked amazingly

Cons:

In our case the setup of the outside toilet and shower didn’t work as i had to keep moving my cosmetics inside so they didn’t spoil sitting outside in the heat, toilet door was also very laud during the night time hence we woke each other up every time.

Magnifique, apaisant, reposant le top des top pour fêter un anniversaire à deux.
Pros:

C’est paradisiaque, tout était parfait. J’ai organisé un anniversaire surprise, c’était magnifique, la decoration, tout était bien agencé.
On a vu la marée basse de près, la mer s’éloigner sur des kilomètres et laisser place au sable et revenir à la marée haute. C’est magique. Les chambres sur l’amer sont superbes.

Disappointing due to the misleading descriptions provided last year when we booked it.
Pros:

If the description used to sell this location would have been correct probably we might have like it more.
In general the island is beautiful, nice small beach and clear water all around.

Cons:

It was sold as a sunset overwater villa with direct access to the ocean. The overwater villas are all sunrise and do not have direct access to the ocean.

An unforgettable island escape. Only 15 minutes from Stone Town, Bawe Island offers luxury and convenience. Our butler, Anwar, was excellent, ensuring every detail of our stay was perfect. We loved our amazing room and private plunge pool. With fantastic dining options and great facilities like the padel court, it was a 10/10 experience. Highly recommended!

Cons:

The resort does not provide boat transfers unless you're staying at least three nights; otherwise they charge $500 to bring you to the island and back. My advice is to use a local speed boat, who will charge roughly $25 each way.
