Difficult to find. Lack of instruction through booking.com as to where and how to check in.

The old stables are on the site of a clearly very up market golf/health club, which for both the cost and the evident clientele of the club you would expect the same for the accommodation. Though it feels like a second thought/ not properly finished. The rooms themselves were not signposted at all, and not within walking distance of reception/check in.. good luck trying to get anyone to answer the phone. Did read other reviews stating similar things but travelling from 250 miles away for a wedding didn’t leave us with many other options in the area. Breakfast was a decent full English, with an option for one drink only (anything else was an extra charge). Not table service , again misaligned with the cost of the room, and the service that was provided was lacklustre. When at breakfast, you’re looked upon by the golf club guests like aliens.. very odd.

Okay for a one night stay but wouldn’t come again and not sure I’d recommend I’m afraid.

Difficult to find room as map and directions hard to follow, breakfast service did not start until 0930 making it unfeasible to utilise this part of my stay (that was paid for)

Room had not been cleaned from the prior resident. You feel like the rooms are very much a second thought to the golf. I know they are a small part of the operation but you should not be made to feel this way.

We were woken up at 3am by drunk people from a wedding party shouting and singing outside, the breakfast option was only full English which gave us no other options (we were charged extra to just have toast instead) it was extremely difficult to find the property and it wasn’t clearly signposted , the disabled sink was loose on the wall which was dangerous

No sign post to say we had arrived at right place so as we started to enter the Golf Club we thought we were at the wrong place so after 45 minutes of asking people on the street and going round in circles we gradually arrived to find just 2 teabags and as we don’t drink coffee we couldn’t even have a drink. We were told dogs couldn’t go in with us for breakfast, luckily weather was good enough to eat outside otherwise we’d have had to eat separate while one stayed in car with dogs the whole experience very disappointing!

Confusing to know where to check in and collect the keys on arrival .

Broken shower, no tv controller, no outside lights

Completely impossible to get hold of any staff, which became a problem when they gave me the wrong key to the wrong room. I ended up speaking to the staff at the golf club who luckily managed to rectify the issue, although it was close for her as she was leaving shortly. I had to go back and forth to the stables as I couldn’t stay and wait whilst I tried to speak to someone. I was very close to having to find somewhere else to stay as I wouldn’t have been able to use the room they gave me. I also tried contacting the staff earlier in the day and never heard back from them. Not being able to communicate is a huge issue and it would put me off staying there again.
