While Cambodian rural architecture has been extensively studied by leading researchers, they found the sad fact is that traditional housing has been disappearing at a too fast pace from the countryside and, obviously, from urban development.
At Dontrei Villa Angkor, we love these houses. Because they tell us of the Cambodian past, of the cleverness and humility of the past generations. Because they are things of beauty, harmoniously blending into their natural environment – sit on the balcony of any of our houses and you’ll get the feeling. And because they are surprisingly adapted to modern life, with the wooden walls gently absorbing the day heat, and releasing it at dusk.
Dontrei Villa Angkor founder and director Davy Chan, along with husband Ly and a team of carpenters, has rescued and repurposed some nine traditional houses since 2019. Some of the houses are from over 30-year old to 160-year old Cambodian traditional houses.
Gently dismantling these time-honored structures, moving them with care to our grounds, redesigning them while keeping their harmonious proportions, replacing damaged timber and roof tiles: this is a labor we undertake with our heart.

Sehr unfreundlich schon fast abfällig. Man hat sich als gast nicht wohlgefühlt, eher das gefühl auf Schmitt und written beobachtet zu werden.

Servicepersonal war ok aber front desk managerin sehr unfreundlich..

Beim Kühlschrank Im Zimmer wurde stecker raus gezogen nach einer nacht um wohl den barbetrieb anzukurbeln.

Mit toller aussicht wird geworben. Jedoch schaut man auf bleche und hinterhöfe. Der platz zwischen Haus/Zimmer und hotelmauer
Wird als sperrmüllablage genutzt.
Gar nicht zu wmpfehlen.
Überall in cambodia waren unterkûnfte gut bis aussergewöhnlich.Das hier sollte ein schõner Abschluss werden hat sich aber als grosse enttäuschung entpuppt. Schade.

All was great just 1 problem

As I lost my key 1 of the night out and he had no idea where was the spare keys I had to wait 5h until the morning reception staff came to be able to enter my room

Un lloc idíl.lic, podria tenir perfectament la categoria d'ecolodge.
Pros:

El lloc és màgic, et perds entre la seva verdor, la piscina, i unes habitacions molt treballades, i còmodes. Amb aire acondicionat i ventilador. Tenen 3 cascades. Un lloc de relax i perfecte per després de les visites als temples.

Cons:

Crec que el menjar del restaurant és molt bo però pel preu les quantitats un pel justes, si tens preus equvalents a Londres o Barcelona almenys posa quantitat. Millorable.

Pros:

Dans l’ensemble tout etait parfait, la chambre avec piscine privee est fabuleuse ! La terrasse est isolée et vous vous sentez vraiment tres a l’aise, la chambre est spacieuse avec tous les équipements nécessaires, la clim fonctionne bien et la moustiquaire est bien pratique !
Personnel tres gentil et soucieux !
Le jardin de l’hotel avec ses deux piscines est juste magnifique, on se croirait dans la jungle !

Cons:

Emplacement un peu éloigné du centre ville (20 minutes a scooter des lieux d’intérêt du centre ville et 20-30 minutes des temples) nous le savions avant de reserver donc cela ne nous a pas derangé, de plus conduire un scooter a siem reap est tres agreable !
Le restaurant est cher pour les portions servies, nous avons pris 2 sandwichs avec des frites et un jus de pastèque lors de notre dernier soir et ca nous a couté 23$ sois le double de la plupart des restaurants en ville… Par contre les sandwiches etaient tres bon, mais ca aurait pu etre plus généreux (seulement 10 frites dans la portion 😂)

Lush jungle escape, close to the city. Beautiful place, beautiful people. Great value for money
Pros:

This property is beautifully hidden behind unassuming walls. You enter into a rich lush jungle atmosphere, with the sound of the waterfalls, the dark woods and rustic clean designs. The inside of the rooms are beautiful, well designed and clean. The staff are attentive, friendly and kind. They are ready to help and are adaptable.

Cons:

Dinner menus reads great but personally was not a fan of the fish options as all fish over smoked and felt like croutons.
