Spoilt by Care

Right from the time we landed at the airport, we realised that we were in good hands. Mr. Sharad the chauffeur received us with a warm smile and took us to the hotel in a very comfortable car. Mr. Saurabh at the reception walked the extra mile and showed us the rooms so that we could choose which one we would like to have. The lakeside room is just out of the world. The big French window opens out to the lake and the promenade. It almost feels that the lake has stepped into your room. It gives such a breath of fresh air and depth to the room. Stella, Kuldeep, Bimla, and everybody at Machan I remeber all of you from the bottom of my heart. The F&B manager at the Machan, who shared a lovely Bon Voyage cake with us, we remember you with a special note of love. Chef Tiwari at the Machan is simply great. The mutton I can never forget and of course all the other food items curated by you deserve a special mention. Beautifully crafted and cooked. And how can I forget the hospitality of House of Ming! Laxman you were incredulous. We used to just sit and he would curate the dinner menu for us every single day. His team members Priya and Dona and Chef Satendra Singh my word... Amazing. Though Chinosserie at the Taj Bengal is the best I had though Taj Kochi was superlative. But the House of the Ming O My. And yes cannot forget the rooftop bar. Chandan, Sourav, Kashish and Shivansh cooked up a beautiful Sphagetti and a lovely whiskey sour and Begum Martini. Sit in the open air and enjoy these cocktails. You will be transported to a world of peace. The concierge desk is also fantastic. They arranged for a wonderful car to take us to Sanchi and Udaygiri. Mr. Azhar Khan, the chauffeur is simply amazing. While we were departing, Miss Preety and Sreejita at the front desk are so efficient and caring. A special mention for Mr. Ravi, the chauffeur. The farewell gifts have touched my heart. Who gives a Gond Painting? Taj does. Thank you Taj, as always. Mr. Ratan Tata is smiling.

The welcome, the warmth and the hospitality makes us feel each time that we are at home
Pros:

The breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Food was always served hot and fresh. The live basuri performance was a bliss and felt so serene and at peace with the stillness of the lake

Cons:

If the hotel could have a dress code for guests to wear decent clothes and not wear their pyjamas to breakfast and to avoid wearing room slippers to the dinning area

Pros:

The minute I stepped into the room I was stunned by the wall to wall window looking out over the lake. Ignoring everything else I spent an hour staring out at the hills, the water and the birds. It was like living in the sky.
The decor is soothing and the staff are warm. The pool, steam room are relaxing. As a solitary guest, I left feeling anchored and joyfully calm.

Pros:

Location, greenery and service

Cons:

Lack of non vegetarian options in breakfast. Not a single one! Wish the lake did not have rubbish thrown in. Maybe taj can help coordinate the clean up

Late services, he take approx 1 hours 12 min for my lunch, less and limited room amenities like total 1.5 L drinking water in the room, coffee bar with very less variety.
