Style and location
The staff attitude
As a mid stop we needed travelling with a dog to Dorset from the Suffolk Coast it was perfect. Super dog friendly with great long country walks and then dog friendly bars & restaurants.
The Cowshed Restaurant could have been better for the value - food service was slow and celeriac main course was undercooked but the staff were attentive and responsive when the issue was raised.
Relaxing and great accommodations. Great walks and farm animals.

Well it was my wedding weekend
Nobody told me that the reception are was going to be closed and couldn’t get into the building once I came back from the cow shed after dinner , I should have been told this when I checked in ,
I had to go back to the restaurant to be told the door was to my right after a certain time
I came there on the Friday with all my cases and bags as I was flu going to stay until Sunday as my wedding was going to be on the Saturday nobody offered to take or help me carry my stuff to my room
I then called on the Monday as I left a bracelet and ring there when I checked out Sunday , they said they would check call me back , nobody did rather disappointing !!
I spent a lot of money to stay and didn’t feel special in any way !!
Very good venue for weddings. Family room was fantastic.
Only thing I can say that wasn’t great was the double bed was small, although a friend had another family room with a massive super king bed.
Hotel Setting is amazing, Reception was extremely welcoming, pre arrival communication was also really good. the standard of the furnishings and come of the bed was also very good.
The restaurant and staff were also really great... My only comment would be that the cost of the food... a 10z Sirloin Steak was £38 + another £6 for Fries and no vegetables included... In my book as a regular traveller that is excessive
:(
Great location , excellent staff
All very clean and well maintained
The main car park is a fair distance from reception. A hike with a suitcase in a frosty wind.
Good accommodation in lovely quiet rural setting with restaurant options
The radiators couldn’t be switched off or down in the room and even after putting on the air conditioning the room was unbearably hot making sleeping difficult and leaving us very tired for a trip the next day.
