The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. Rainfall showerhead a plus! All the hotels I looked at around the plaza mentioned cockroaches. Hence I chose Asís 2 blocks away. I am happy to say, not a single critter of any type! And it's super close to the plaza/Cathedral Basílica. I shut the door to my room when the segunda llamada started. I was over halfway there by the time it finished.
I'd recommend a room facing the back. The teeny-tiny street in front becomes a moto raceway after dark! It's noisy until 2 AM!
And then there was the tractor.... They are remodeling or something on half the building. When I arrived, there was construction rubble out into the street from that portion. Didn't block the entrance or anything, but did block the sidewalk further on. When I returned after dinner, a policeman was taking pictures. At midnight, the motorcycle noise suddenly stopped...only to be replaced by a backhoe and a dump truck. For the next 2 hours, the rubble was scraped up and dumped with a thud into the truck! Did make for a nice sidewalk the next morning though.
It looked brand new
No where to hang your clothes, non functional AC when arriving at 30C, and a very noisy street that it was difficult to sleep
