Hotel Chachoo Palace

Good location. Right on the water. A hotel, not a boat. Some of the boats looked isolated, run-down and with access limited.

L’emplacement est parfait, au calme, un petit jardin sur le bord du lac, aménagé, fleuri, doté d’un embarcadère. La cuisine est bonne, service d’un t’il tuk-tuk épatant, connexion WIFI performante.

One of the best places to stay in Srinagar. The location is quiet, peaceful, and perfect for relaxing, yet everything is easily accessible nearby.

The owners are extremely honest, warm, and welcoming, which made our stay even more comfortable. A special mention to Ubaid, the caretaker — such a genuine and kind person. He helped us with everything, from bike rentals to booking a shikara ride, and always made sure we got fair prices and didn’t get scammed by local rentals or agents.

Their hospitality and care truly made our trip memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Srinagar!

Tucked away behind Dal Lake, this 3-star property is a practical, high-value base for exploring Kashmir. Because most guests use the hotel as a launchpad for day trips to Gulmarg, Pahalgam, or Sonmarg, it focuses on what matters most: seamless transitions, a solid breakfast, and genuine hospitality. The owner/manager brings a professional international touch, having worked in the Netherlands and speaking both English and Dutch. That experience shines through in the service quality and the clear commitment to constantly improving the guest experience.

This hotel has good location, very peaceful environment, they also provide home cooked food that is tasty, nice and honest staff, we left one beg while checking out, they called and gave it while we were on the way to airport. Very helpful. Overall nice to spend time with peace and enjoy.

The location is away from the crowd and by a river. It was perfect, I spent peaceful morning and afternoon having nice coffee there. Room was decently clean. You have a small garden to chill by the lake and watch the boats pass by. There were also 2 cute cats. The guy at the reception is very helpful. He helped me in booking my tickets for gandola for Gulmarg. I suggest you contact them to book your transportation if you want to travel around.

Tucked away from the crowd and yet close to the city centre, very peaceful living by the lake, watching the shikaras passing by (almost like living on a houseboat), and hosted by a very attentive owner and staff. They will take care of your every need.

The hotel is located just on a Dal Lake bank. The owner is very helpful and could prepare you a tasty dinner and give tips about sightseeing. The hotel building is atmosphering and has a terrace with a lake view.

Chachoo hotel owner and staff is very nice 8 cooperative and helpful. Location is good near to sikara boat. Room is comfortable.
