Quiet retreat opposite gardens
Pros:

A midweek night spent at Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre was excellent, with a friendly, helpful welcome from staff, who personally showed me to my apartment. The apartment was very clean, well presented and maintained, and provided a quiet, safe place to rest for a solo female traveller, (and ample room for my friends, who couldn't Come in the end!).
Opposite Fitzroy Gardens, with an excellent café.

Cons:

Nothing, I'd stay here again!

A somewhat hidden inner-city gem for those seeking quietude and comfort.
Pros:

My studio was quiet and immaculately clean, tidy and warm (I stayed on a freakishly cold autumn night), the bathroom well-appointed, and the bed wonderfully comfortable. And had I been staying longer than one night, the kitchen facilities would have been very useful.

It's worth emphasising here that MMSC is an excellent option for women travelling alone - not only is there a convenient carpark on the premises, but also ample security. I felt safer here than I've felt in most hotels.

Further, it's considerably quieter - no partying, loud TV or other annoying noises coming through from adjacent rooms.

Finally, sincere thanks to the staff member who was extremely kind and helpful when I called to say I was running late.

Cons:

There's no aspect at all that I'd criticise strongly - quite the opposite. The only thing I'd mention is that it would have been nice to have even some modest biscuits offered alongside the tea and coffee. But that's a very minor and subjective nit-pick, rather than a complaint.

Very convenient peaceful location with adequate facilities for self catering.
Pros:

Quiet and peaceful venue. Communication regarding booking and access excellent. Lovely position opposite Fitzroy Park and close to transport and hospitals.

Cons:

The double bed was short for my 6’2 husband, toilet seat didn’t stay up, and there was only one fork. There was what looked like black mould in the shower but the rest of the place was very clean.

Peaceful place to stay in Melbourne. Opposite Fitzroy Gardens.
Pros:

Great location. Accommodation is only a short 1.5km walk from Melbourne city, grocery shops & other areas. We caught an uber to the International Flower Show at the stunning historical Exhibition Centre which is also opposite the Melbourne Museum, you could walk there. Accommodation is opposite the Fitzroy Gardens & a short walk from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Parliament House & an interesting sculpture showcasing Victoria’s Suffragettes.

Secure and comfortable apartment.
Pros:

The privacy, and quietness. The ease of access. Parking although we were uncertain at first if it was the correct parking area. The cleanliness, room layout and the laundry.

Cons:

Building next door under renovation with lights on overnight preventing a peaceful sleep due to light intrusion.

Beautiful Accommodation
Pros:

Location (could walk to CBD and go for runs at Fitzroy Gardens), facilities, staff were so kind. So lucky to have found this gem.

Cons:

Figured out late where we could get replacement towels, but manageable because the room had laundry.
