Water pump a bit noisy
Die Unterkunft war sehr sauber, ruhig gelegen und das Personal war herzlich und hilfsbereit. Besonders gefallen hat uns die entspannte Atmosphäre und die Nähe zu den spirituellen Orten in Rishikesh.
Es gab nichts Wesentliches zu beanstanden – eventuell könnte das WLAN in den oberen Stockwerken stabiler sein.
The Basera is in a quiet and safe gated neighbourhood, with lovely gardens in the front.
Our room was clean, with a comfortable bed, AC and fan.
They helped us with laundry at a good rate, and it was done very quickly.
Unfortunately the location was not great for us. There aren’t any shops or restaurants within walking distance, so you need to catch a tuktuk into Tapovan every time you need anything - even water.
So you end up doing at least 4 journeys back and forth every day… and if you aren’t from India, they will overcharge you for every journey. They also don’t like going up the hill, so you will be dropped at the bottom road with a 10-minute hill climb to get to the Basera.
We stayed in the top room and there was a very loud water pump noise every time anyone in the building used the water, even during the night when we were trying to sleep. We got used to it, but it was quite annoying.
The shower was very basic and couldn’t maintain a temperature, going between hot and cold with no consistency. So it was uncomfortable every time we showered.
The power also dropped out a few times, which they did fix quickly, but it was a bit inconvenient.
The staff working at the cottage were absolutely fantastic and friendly.
Washing machine and iron available
Room needs a refresh, paint falls off the wall and overall dated.
Hostess is only available on whatsapp and response can be from a few seconds to 2 days and hence communication was sometimes difficult.

A perfect stay in Rishikesh — truly a home away from home!
We had a wonderful experience at this property. The location is amazing, surrounded by nature and with great places and sightseeing spots within easy reach. The clean, multi-level house with all facilities provided both comfort and charm. The terrace offered a beautiful view, and it was fun to spot so many monkeys around — a treat for the kids!
One of the key reasons we booked this property was the spacious living room — an ideal gathering space where the whole family could eat, chat, and enjoy tea together. At the same time, everyone had their own rooms with attached toilets, ensuring privacy and comfort. The availability of car service from the airport was a great convenience and made our arrival smooth.
We also loved the peaceful garden, perfect for serene walks. The Wi-Fi was strong and reliable throughout our stay.
Now, the food — absolutely outstanding! Every meal was hearty, fresh, and served with so much care. Fruits were fresh and delightful, and the kitchen staff’s behaviour was exceptional — warm, attentive, and always ready to help. Truly a 10/10 experience on food and service.
The hosts were incredibly welcoming and supportive, and the entire staff made us feel right at home. This stay exceeded our expectations in every way. We highly recommend it to families or groups looking for comfort, connection, and a peaceful retreat in the heart of Rishikesh.
Our stay was perfect, everything clean and relaxing. Nandini and Santosh are excellent host, they helped us in everything and the food was delicious. We Will definetely go back there. I recommend this villa to everybody.

It was a fantastic stay. Very clean and spacious rooms. Home food is available and delicious (they have great cooks in the house!). Very quiet area and easy to access anywhere in Rishikesh. Ideal for a long stay as we did. I highly recommend it!

My stay at Basera was truly overwhelming, the rooms were clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated, the terrace felt super relaxing and peaceful. The food was great and ofcourse the spectacular veiw of ganges it provided. Loved it all

Lovely and comfortable stay. The caretaker was also very warm and attentive to our needs. Highly recommend Basera for anyone visiting Rishikesh. The location is also the best. 5mins from the ghats.
Access road (by walking) from the Ganga complex to the ghat has worsened and it needs to be looked at collectively by the residents.
