It’s very hard to rate this place. I gave it an 8 because of the location and the atmosphere. However, if it were located anywhere else, it would probably get a poor 5. If someone values living right on the beach and doesn’t mind the lack of running water in a tap, a level of cleanliness that leaves a lot to be desired, and having to climb many stairs every time they want to go anywhere, then I would recommend it.
A place where one feels like at home!😊 All the staff are super friendly, and the food is delicious! We also took surf lessons and rented surfboards which was an awesome, exceptional experience! 🤙🏼
We loved absolutely everything about Ari’s!! The location was INCREDIBLE! The staff were amazing!! We actually hadn’t planned that we were going to learn to surf, but by the time we left (only 3 days) we were hooked! -on surfing and on the super cool guys that became friends and on the whole stay! We left with heavy hearts and with so much more than we had expected!!

Location on the beach with a dreamy view. The sound of the waves when falling asleep and waking up is magical. Comfortable bed with a mosquito net, spacious room with a mirror. Shower is fine, with soap provided. Both beach and shower towels are available.
The place has so much potential — it’s such a shame it’s not being taken care of as it deserves. It’s disappointing to pay such a high price for such poor service and limited amenities (only the view and location are really worth it).
Creepy vibe from the owners — I went to the reception twice to buy water, and they were staring and laughing at me, looking me up and down, talking in Indonesian to each other, drinking beers, and smoking. I didn’t feel safe at all and definitely didn’t feel like eating at the café or enjoying the beach in front of it.
Nothing was explained during check-in except for the Wi-Fi. There was nobody around when I checked out at 9 a.m.
The room and bathroom need a deep cleaning — it feels like they just started cleaning again after years of neglect. It was very dirty; the fridge hadn’t been cleaned in ages and smelled like vomit, so I couldn’t use it. There were old, broken pieces of furniture in the room, a swimsuit and towel from a previous guest in the bathroom, and a very old bottle of laundry liquid lying around.
There are also many stairs with very high steps to reach the room and the main road, which can be a problem depending on your health condition or the weight of your luggage. The price they charge for help with luggage is also way too high.

La vue sur Thomas Beach, jolie et plus confidentielle que Padang Padang. C’est le seul point positif.
L’accueil était mauvais voir inexistant avec un gros manque d’amabilité. L’hôtel est situé en amont de la plage, du coup le bruit des vagues se fait entendre toute la nuit et empêche de dormir. En plus des aboiements des chiens des maisons avoisinantes. Mes draps étaient sales dès que mon arrivée arrivée. La wifi est obligatoire car on ne capte pas la 4G (ce qui rend compliqué les échanges avec les taxis le temps de remonter les escaliers). Les escaliers sont pentus et plutôt longs ce qui ne facilement pas du tout l’accès. De plus, la nuit rien n’est éclairé. Je ne conseille pas du tout pour une femme seule. La salle de bain est commune est située en dehors des chambres. Pour finir, après avoir prévu la veille que je ferai mon check-in très tôt le matin, personne n’a répondu à mes messages le jour J et j’ai dû déposer les clés sous le paillasson.
