Pros:

This is the first time since I have been traveling when I refused a room. We booked one night, 3 rooms, for about 60 euros/ room. Not cheap for Vietnam, but wanted something 'upscale' for a night. The host was nice enough to contact me one week in advance to ask about our arrival time and if we would be interested in dinner. I only replied the day before, via Booking. The host insisted on the same questions over and over again. Called me, sent me sms and repeatedly asked me to reply by sms. Unfortunately, this was not possible - my sim card was for calls and data only. I was very puzzled why it was so difficult to understand what I believe was a pretty clear answer regarding our arrival time and our dinner options, provided through Booking and on the phone. On the way there, we were caught by a terrible rain, on scooters. Shortly after lunch I messaged the host via Booking to ask (cause we already had some shady experiences) if the rooms are heated. I did not get any answer. Anyway, we arrived at the gate of the property a couple of hours later. From the main toad to the house were about 100m of deep mud. No stone, no pavement, nothing. When we finally got to the main building, a couple of nice ladies showed us the rooms. The ladies were fine, but 0 English. Hence it was challenging to explain to them that the AC was not heating. I called the host. No answer, or just a vague answer. After 15 minutes, the ladies bring to one of the 3 rooms a heater. We were soaking wet, we were about to pay 60 euros per room and we were about to share one heater amongst the 3 rooms. I checked for another option in the area, found one and moved out. I feel sorry for the ladies... Probably they did not understand a lot, although I explained on google translate that we cannot sleep in a cold room after several hours on scooters, through rain. So we left. Found heated rooms 500m away, for 20 euros/ night/ room.
