Staff was great, very polite and friendly. Hotel is vintage but in a good way, clean sheets and towels, and the fact that the food is included and was tasty.
Family is not allowed to visit and the hotel doors are locked at 11pm so entry is through some other are up and down some spiral steps.
Beautiful hotel, clean and very attractive. Grounds are very well kept. Front desk staff very friendly and professional.
Staff in restaurant are slow and it feels like you are bothering them. Food was too long to arrive, even though the restaurant was empty apart from 3 tables. 3 of our Fish dishes were over cooked. ( they did offer 50% off the food). We decided to eat out the next day. Water pressure for the shower is very weak, and water is warm not hot.
Night before check out we had a call from reception around 930pm to come down and settle the bill unheard of, we refused and said “ we will do that at checkout out”, which is normal practice in Hotels, but not in this one.
At check out we were told that they cannot find the towels, an accusation that we may have taken the towels which were on the back of the bathroom door that they didn’t see. That was very embarrassing and distressing to be asked about towels.
Tv did not work most times so my kids had to find other entertainment
The location. The pool was nice. Warm.
Only a couple of staff un the food hall we friendly and accommodating
No welcome when walked in. Didn't even say hellonor welcome you to their hotel.
We booked 2 rooms for children and had to pay extra money to move our rooms together.
We paid dor Junior suit which was very small and not worth the money. Asked to move.
After moving rooms - (had to talk with manager to do it).
Toilet didn't work. Was told to switch on water ourselves!
Cockroaches in both rooms. No assistance when asvise staff.
AC stopped working after a day.
Sockets upside-down.
Wardrobe very small.
No luggage rack - asked but never delivered.
Clothes hangers asked for more ( only 3 in room) never delivered.
TV stopped working.
Furniture was small and inadequate for us and looked ridiculous in the room.
Dining room - basic btrskfsdt options.
(Good Jamaican breakfast).
Had to really push just to get a boiled egg.
Had to step up and then step into the bath/shower - slippery and dangerous 😳
Everything seemed like it was a chore for them to do.
Wouldn't stay here unless you don't mind poor customer service.
Looks very grand but that's it - very disappointing. Lack of customer care
I love that the place is extremely clean and well kept. The black and white colour scheme is perfect. The idea of designing the pool to reflect the shape of Jamaica is excellent. The food was great. It's a nice getaway for persons who need peace and quiet.
It's a little bit too quiet. You should consider having scheduled entertainment for the guests. There could be more variety with the food options. The pool can be opened a little earlier than 10:00am and checkout could be at 12 noon.
The hotel has a look of onew and old, the art works is phenomenal. The bed was so cozy and has a different shape. You surely want to see it. Make your reservation today
There's was nothing I didn't like
I liked the location, 10 minutes from the town of Port Antonio, 10 minutes from the Blue Lagoon and a stone throw away from some of the best beaches on the island. The grounds of the hotel is well kept and also the building with that unique historic look.
The TV channels never worked smoothly for the entirety of our 3 night stay. On the first day the wifi was ok, but from day 2 it kept saying connected without internet. The internet issue was highlighted to management but it was never fixed, I had to purchase data for my entire family. The room also needs more power outlets.
Nothing
Old and outdated furniture and decor. Bathroom was deplorable. Rooms were tacky and poorly decorated. I could not sleep there, so I checked out immediately. Absolutely horrible.
The big size of the room, overall design of the palace, swimming pool, reliable WiFi, vegetation and flowers. My top recommendation if you're seeking tranquility.
We didn't feel the staff friendly, motivated or enthusiastic enough. Hard to find any authentic Jamaican food on the menu, plus overall very pricey. Also, just 1 or 2 sockets available to plug devices.
It had a historical feel about it in a good way. The grounds were excellent. I will definitely book again.
Nothing to complain about.
It feels like home.
The tile floors in the bedroom and low beds. I think the rooms could be a bit more charming. Too basic for such a grand entrance.
The architecture, the landscape and the art work
Lack of air conditioning in common areas. Lack of engagement of the restaurant staff.
